Visited the Museum for the opening and was really impressed with the staff and art! Come with an open mind and you wont be disappointed.
NFTs are new medium of expression artists can use to create and market their work directly to the public, making it now viable for many artists to make a living directly off of selling their work. It's transforming the art world by building a new economic ecosystem around producing and marketing art and allowing for provable, trustless provenance on the blockchain. (e.g. Ethereum, Tezos, Solana)
NFTs have also sparked a renewed movement in generative art (especially long form) - specific examples include Tyler Hobbs' "Fidenza" algorithm as well as Erick Calderon's "Squiggles" series. You'll see examples of these during their current exhibit.
While there's more work to be done on bringing some of these blockchains into a more energy sustainable compliance, there's some of the best minds in the world currently working on figuring out the right solutions. As with any new medium, there's constant work being done to further the space and improve the technology.
The NFT Museum is definitely cutting a new edge in the Seattle art scene. Big props to the...
Read moreOkay, look. I decided to go to the Seattle NFT Museum specifically to laugh at how ridiculous it is, and I walked out absolutely blown away by how fun and interesting it was. I had the best time and thought the exhibits were incredibly well done. It's a small-ish museum (it took me about an hour to read everything) but the information presented was fantastic (from details about the art/artists to information about cryptocurrencies and the blockchain). I found that the art ranged from pieces I actually really liked to pieces that made me think "why is this here", which is exactly how I feel at most art museums so I felt the collection was well curated. Additionally, Casey at the front was just great. He was so attentive, made such an effort to ask me about why I was there, what level of experience and knowledge I had in NFTs, and shared additional details and information about the exhibits. I came in curious but expecting to hate the museum and I walked out so thankful that I decided to go! 10/10...

My friend and I saw the the museum on our walk down the street and decided to go in. I was stoked to go in because I personally am very interested in NFTs but have very surface level knowledge on the subject. Upon entering we saw the only employee face timing a buddy of his. We thought him not hanging up when we walked in was a little goofy, but we just walked around looking at the different pieces.
We were surprised when 10 minutes have gone by and buddy is still on face time bringing up Shane Gillis? or something like that. I was hoping he would eventually end the conversation after seeing two guys aimlessly walk around, but he did not. We exited the store after 15 minutes and was still on the phone as we were walking out.
I was pretty upset about learning nothing from the visit, every time I have an interaction with "NFT bros" it just makes me never want to get into them.
Buddy was wearing...
