I don't understand all the positive reviews here. This place is objectively bad. Gave them a try based on their good reviews.
The burger itself was a tasteless mess. Piled high with tons of ingredients so you can't even open your mouth enough to take a big. The burger falls apart because it's a greasy mess. The patty is thin and bland and clearly just a frozen patty from the store. Tastes like they microwaved it. The bun was NOT toasted. It was soaked from the grease of the patty and the moisture from the pound of tomatoes, onions, and lettuce they piled on.
The fries are your standard frozen crinkle cut. Following what appears to be the theme of the restaurant they were also bland and tasteless. The only seasoning was salt. I'm actually glad they gave me such a small portion of fries because I didn't feel as bad about throwing them away. Completely terrible.
The only positive part of my experience here was they had Jones soda in the fountain. Unfortunately they give you what feels like a shot glass for your beverage. The tiniest cup I've ever seen at a restaurant. I don't need a gallon of soda to accompany my meal but the cup was so small I felt the need to ration out my sips so as not to run out before the meal was finished.
For me, a bad pizza is still pizza. Which is to say even a low quality pizza is still a pretty good pizza. Similarly, even a weak burger like Great State is still a burger. The biggest flaw with this restaurant is the price. For $18 I was given a wet and messy burger, a measly 10 french fries, and a shot glass of soda.
All of this would have been just fine if I wasn't expected to pay $18 for it. I would hesitate to pay even $8 for it. This place is literally the worst burger I've ever eaten. My experience was such a monumental disappointment that I'm writing a review online about it. I hope I can save someone else from a similar...
Read moreTheir State sauce stands out and the Patty is also flavourful and juicy. The crinkle cut cries are also fresh made and aren't greasy or overly salty. Here are some helpful tips/notes:
Always order online. They are loacted right next to the Amazon Doppler building and lunch time lines can get really long. However, of you order online, you can skip the line, walk up to the front and get your order like a boss. If you want to dine-in, just tell them you need the dine-in tray as well.
They only serve Jones cane sugar soda. If you are a fan of that ( I like the green apple flavor), go for it, else save some money by getting water.
You can get caramelized onions on your burger for no additional cost.
They are not a sub- $10 option with their standard combos. The combos run into almost $14. Hiwever, I find the two Patties overkill and order the kids combo ( and swap the caprisun with Jones) which...
Read moreGreat State Burger is the decent take-out or dine-in burger spot for those on a time crunch.
To start off, the location of this burger joint is great, and I can only imagine that it receives lots of business from Amazon employees and locals alike. Ordering is done through the use of tablets, and the food prepared surprisingly quick.
I ended up ordering the Boss Burger, with fries and a drink. This location offers Jones Soda Co., one of the better options out there for sugar-filled beverages. The food was alright but I did notice that the patties didn't seemed all that seasoned. Likewise, the fries definitely could have used a bit more salt. Otherwise, the rest of the meal itself was good.
That being said, with so many cheaper and arguably more flavorful burger options nearby, it's difficult to recommend this spot for more than a quick meal during lunchbreak or a casual affair (minus the...
