The Red Door is a tale of two bars. I've been here several times over the years since the move to the new location a block away. It's usually the same. If you go from open until 7 pm the place is a nice place to grab bite to eat, a beer or drink and watch the game with ample seating and good service. From the evening until close however, it turns into a frat party with a young, meat market type crowd, a lot of them having wandered on over from nearby SPU.

I've always had good food here. The burgers are large and juicy. There are lots of good happy hour food options. For beer nerds the menu offers up extra info. There is always a rotating Beer of the Month at a discounted price. It's usually a seasonal, local one. The space features large windows which is nice on a sunny day. Even nicer is the big patio to lounge on a sunny afternoon after the Fremont Market. Some reviews have complained about the service but I've always had good luck. The waitresses I've had have been friendly, engaging and responsive.

In the evenings, especially on Friday and Saturday of course, the place gets PACKED. It's not usually my type of scene, but it can be fun if you're in the mood for a college type of crowd. I don't remember the Red Door being like this back in it's old location but maybe it was. I was of college age at the time I went in there so maybe I didn't notice. On the plus side these days, it gets loud but never annoyingly so. The bartenders are still fast friendly even when...

Everything about this place is amazing. This was our first time (about a week ago) Tried a couple of things. BLTA- THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD IN SEATTLE. Hands down, So good. Clam chowder was pretty good. Tried their cheese curds- they make them different from most places here in Seattle, but still just as great. Tried a Ceasar/kale salad- yummy. My son enjoyed his meal. My bf loved his- though I cannot remember right this second what it was. The atmosphere is awesome. And they have a patio. Great food, and loved our server. She was really nice. Wish I caught her name so I could give her recognition. But she was really attentive and nice. (Short brown hair, tall(er than me, I'm 5'2), glasses) Hopefully this narrows down a little and she knows it's her =) She did a fantastic job. She noticed I wasn't drinking my drink, so she checked on me to make sure I liked it- twice. Asked if I wanted a new drink. I declined, though I thought it was very good customer service and appreciated her concern. =) It is rare to get a server to take notice in the little things. She was awesome. I...

My boyfriend and I went to have lunch for my birthday here. We walked in and no one greeted us. Since it was "seat yourself", we walked to find a table, most of which were dirty (they were not busy that day). We settled on a somewhat clean table and waited 10 minutes for someone to come by with menus. Our waiter finally came over and was indifferent toward us. We managed to order our drinks and that was it...he took the menus from us, scurried away, and didn't bother to ask if we were going to order food, which we were. Another 10 minutes went by before we got our TWO drinks. We finished them and waited patiently for our waiter to reappear, to ask if we were ready for another round....uh no. Overpriced, terrible...

This is a fantastic local place with friendly service and a great atmosphere. On sunny days, there's no better place to be than the Red Door outdoor patio. Food is excellent, and a great beer selection! You can't beat their wings and tater tots with curry ketchup. And as a Wisconsin native, I can say that the cheese curds are totally authentic :) My two favs for lunch are the beef dip sandwich and the crispy chicken salad, which is awesome as is or made into a buffalo chicken salad. I often come here with co-workers, and the staff is super welcoming of groups and goes out of the their way to accommodate everyone. Can't recommend this place enough!

Good bartenders, generous happy hour (good deals on snacks), and a consistently good beer selection with fairly quick turnover. In fact, they frequently get in beers not often seen elsewhere. The entrees on the menu, including burgers, have been good, but have never wowed me. The spirits selection is predictable but by no means deficient. Overall, a pleasant place for a single drink or several. A great place to watch a game or a presidential debate (they show both).

Salads are amazing! You get tons of food and everything is fresh and delicious including the meat. Tasty cocktails and a wide variety of beers makes this a good happy hour or casual date spot (the food is pretty darn good) I gave 4 stars because the service is always just average (sometimes below average)
