I drive far to hang out here & I usually actually love this place. Great food, great fun, usually great service, lots of space and tv screens galore. However my last experience could be the last for boxing pleasure anyways. As advertised on Toms watch bar web site, one of the biggest female fight nights of all time. An all woman’s boxing card sold out at Madison square garden. Upon arrival Toms was packed as usual, no big deal, we found our own seating but no boxing on the screens anywhere, now my last visit we had to ask for them to turn at least one of the jumbo screens to boxing, but this 3 hour visit it seemed like we had to continuously ask about the boxing match being displayed. We waited over an hour just to order food, one of my $30 drinks was a little past half full. And still no boxing, we ask again then it was showing in a small 4 screen corner. They were short staff so everyone was moved upstairs, where they had live music outside on the upper deck, witch was great, again no boxing was displayed, so we ask yet again, now boxing is on one screen where people are starting to gather because this fight night is a big deal to some and who come here to watch boxing. No volume at all, I ask about the volume and one waitstaff comes up to the area where we’re all watching and states that she will turn it down low and the live music outside takes priority. Live music is great but priority? Where is the priority for what was advertised? This is still a sports bar, TOMS WATCH BAR, I found this odd because there was multiple sports on including music videos( with volume )being played on screens but boxing was the least through out the time there (3 hours)people had to About the boxing. My party was not the only once’s who wanted to hear & see the action, there was an entire section of boxing fans who had the same complaints as we did. When you come to a watch bar to watch sports it shouldn’t be a hassle for the patrons to do so, also the waitstaff should have better knowledge on what events to show or what’s happening in general. It’s more then just local events people...
Read moreLet's start with All the good things first. I went into redeem my free appetizer and get a small side really quickly for lunch. The potstickers are well sauced and tastes very good. The place gets a 9 out of 10 for accessibility. They have lowered down tables and an elevator, With ramps throughout for easy entrance and exit. There is room for improvement as far as spacing goes and barricade placement when it comes to being accessible to wheelchairs and mobility scooters but that's easily taken care of with just a little movement of furniture.
This is my first time visiting this particular Tom's since its appearance here in Seattle. I was greeted at the door by friendly smiles and a welcoming attitude and guided through the restaurant to an accessible and acceptable spot to sit at. Plenty of people came up to ask if I needed help which was very nice. I also had a very nice conversation with a person who had just moved here from San Diego and they were very sweet.
When I went to order I redeemed the email that gave me a free appetizer and asked simply for a $7 side of fries. I gave my card over and then I'm handed the POS system to my surprise a $22 charge. This soured my visit a little bit, I'm not going to lie. They assured me that it was not charged to my account but it is now sitting as a pending charge. This also put a damper on things. Don't assure somebody of something that isn't true. I understand mistakes are made but it should be noted that people should definitely double check their checks before they sign for them. Overall I had a good brief experience there. I will be back because it wasn't too terrible but I just have one last question, Where's the seasoning on these fries? They are called seasoned fries after...
Read moreFirst time I went was St Patrick’s weekend. I arrived early so I sat at the bar and the bartender was great but he upsold me to a larger pint of Guinness because it would “save me money.” Little did I know they were running a special on the regular pint of Guinness. The rest of my group arrived and we were sat at a large table. We didn’t have a great first impression because our server never greeted us (turns out no one was assigned to our table) and our food & drinks took over an hour to be served (we flagged down Isiah, who wasn’t assigned to our table, to help us). We’ll chalk that up to opening weekend/working out the kinks.
Anyway, this review isn’t meant to complain but rather praise just how well Isiah did to turn our experience around. He was incredibly attentive and probably the reason any of us came back. Also, the manager overheard us and comp’d our food as an apology.
My friends have been back a bunch but my second time was for a friend’s birthday during the Final Four. I showed up a bit late but it seemed like everything was great from the get go. John was our server and he was awesome, always asking me if I wanted another drink when my glass was almost empty so I wouldn’t have to wait a while when I was ready.
They’re both rockstars and I’ll be back for sure, and soon! PS please get some...
