Fantastic, especially since they've only been open a few days!
When I visited, they were doing an "appetizer on us" opening week deal. Regrettably they were out of Chicken Satay, so I ordered the crispy Tofu. It was fantastic and quite a large portion. The sweet chili and peanut sauce was a great complement as well. It was not as crispy as others I have tried, but it was larger and less greasy as a result.
I also ordered the lunch special with Massaman Curry chicken (menu does not say it has chicken, but it does and it's great) and the Moo Yang marinated pork with Thai herbs and pepper sauce. This entree combination came with choice of rice (I went purple sticky) and was wonderful and again a very large portion size. Many adults I know would not be able to finish the meal.
Specifically, the Moo Yang pork was slightly sweet and salty, well-cooked and not tough. The dipping sauces were both great, but I liked the black bean soy sauce better. The Massaman Curry was very good, though not as spicy as I've had before. Potatoes were smooth and well cooked, and carrots soaked up the best of the seasoning.
There was a prior review about pricing being too high. I think the owners are reading/listening to reviews as the pricing printed on the menus ($13.95 for entree) had been covered by a sticky insert changing the price to $12. For $12 I was completely satisfied by the quality, flavor and amount of food. Ambiance is also great, however owners if you're reading the bass of the music (Trap style) can be...
Read moreDisappointing. We wanted to like it- these dishes are some of our favorites in any cuisine, and it’s near our home.
The best parts: Panang curry was good. We did order it “Thai hot” which is the hottest level, and were disappointed that it was still just medium spiciness. It wasn’t as flavorful as I would hope. Tasted like it came from a package rather than fresh spices. Drunken noodles are solid. I would eat that again.
The not so good: Tom yum was alright. tasted as it should, but this is my absolute favorite Thai dish, and I normally can’t get enough of it. It tasted watered down, bland. Also, the spice was too mild. Fish cakes were rubbery, they tasted like they were bought frozen and reheated. Spring rolls were sad, basically grocery store bagged shredded lettuce with three rubbery shrimp packed into them. Peanut sauce was surprisingly uninspiring, even a little discomfiting. Peanut sauce is generally delicious- sweet, fatty, spicy, when done well. This was bland and a strange texture.
We have ordered out from them just once during quarantine, and once before a couple months ago. I want to like this place, and go back, but to make matters more difficult, each dish is more expensive than a much better dish that you would find in Salt Lake....
Read moreBirthday dinner tonight and I had the worst service tonight. I waited nearly an hour for food if not more. The waiter was doing way too much brought water initially, went to help with takeout orders, took a few tables orders, then started cleaning tables. I asked for two lemons he forgot them and had to flag him down for it. Young couple came in sat down and had there food within 20 mins when I had already been waiting nearly 35+ mins by that time. Food finally came out mom rice was cold seems it had been waiting for who knows how long in the back. My order was completely wrong I ordered red curry and he brought out green curry so I had to wait atleast 10 -12 mins more to eat. Literally an hour plus for food. I hate to say this everyone around me was being serviced and I had such a hard time keeping this guy attention let alone get my food in proper time. No apology... the mgr could have atleast came over to address the issue but didn't either. Worst experience ever at this spot. I had two people reco this place to me but not at all impressed and service is everything to me....
