I ordered a dessert for a special occasion online - for pickup. I arrived early and waited to be told there was no dessert. They offered me a substitution, I agreed and asked if ice cream was included. The staff assured me there was. I waited a while longer and the staff brought out an order and said - "No ice cream was available." I thought, ok they must have made up for it. I was disappointed but I would enjoy the chocolate. When I arrived home in my bag was two of the tiniest brownies I have ever seen. They were cut in a triangle and there is no way it was even 3 bites per. They charged me the full price of over $16.00 plus tip. I could not believe it. It felt like a rip off. I immediately left my home and drove back to Applebees to ask for a refund. I waited and waited for them to return my card after showing them the ridiculous dessert they sold me for a super inflated price. The staff did not offer me the dessert to take with me. They did offer a meal but I did not want to take advantage. I wanted my money refunded and them to offer me a wonderful dessert to enjoy! I told them I wanted a lovely dessert for my celebration!! No such offer etc. I am extremely disappointed in how they care for customers and rip us off. Check every single order!!! Do not take a sub without understanding what you will receive, maybe trust but verify!!! Not great service. What...
Read moreI like to eat here and the food is always tasty. My issue was with points of service this time mostly. Waitstaff was nice, btw. 3 were seated at a table as it was 3ish and few customers. I didn't wait long to be seated. The menus were actually stuck to the table it was so sticky. So someone didn't have a clean towel. She cleaned it right up, no problem. The lunch specials are great so for the price of drive-thru junk, I ordered the 6oz sirloin special, medium, with garlic mash and broccoli. Great vegetables. My steak came out well done. Stuff happens, the cook's timing was off. I would have sent it back but my server never came back after dropping the plate until she asked if I needed anything else, to present the check. That's a problem for me AND the server. You ALWAYS check back so that you might correct a problem and deliver. The server was young and I told her about this point of service, because the issue will cost her tip money in the end. No one wants to look for waitstaff. They were all back at that table on their phones. I didn't feel like waiting on a refire by then so I was pretty disappointed. The server hadn't been trained properly? Idk. The cook should have been able to touch the steak and tell it wasn't medium. BTW, I still tipped over 20% because I wondered what kind of training takes place....
Read moreUpdate on 3/19/25 Decided to go back to see if the service has improved since a change in management happened and I was pleasantly surprised. Our waiter, Christian, who apologized for being new. Was great, he made sure we were taken care of throughout the entire meal. Promptly refilled our drinks, was very polite and did a fantastic job for being brand new. I wouldn't have noticed he was new had he not said so. I made sure to give him a full tip. The food is always great. Every team member that was there helped each other out, was attentive to their customers, right down to the lady who cleaned the bathrooms. Good job guys and gals. 👍
Old post---Let's put it this way, the young generation have a "I don't care, and why are you making me work attitude". Had several different young people deliver things to our table with out a word, forgot a few things but left as promptly as possible and gave attitude when asked to come back and get us what they forgot to bring. The hostess who showed us to our table just put the menus on the table and pointed at it, and walked away. Really? But our waiter who also was the bartender was fantastic. I couldn't ask for a better waiter. He was funny, very respectful, very attentive and willing to go the extra mile to make your visit worth your while. Give that man a raise,...
