Domaćin Restaurant, Lounge & Wine Shop — Restaurant in Stillwater

Good food and wine, but can be noisy when crowded, making conversation difficult.

Edit (June 21, 2022): I have come back, many times this pandemic. I bought bottles of wine during the pandemic sale (at the wine shop) because I really like this place. Now it's still noisy but better because I get it. It's fun and the staff really enjoys the customers who seem to respect them for allowing all this fun.

People are loud when they are having fun. The staff/owner(s) are making a great restaurant fun, not stuffy. I must not have gotten it before. It's on me, so five stars now. Your response reminded me that restaurants are hard and people (me included) are dumb.

That said, I have two or three things I really want to emphasize.

One, Ethan's wine picks are always good. He's the best. Order with abandon.

Two, the steak tenderloin, while expensive, is the best steak in Stillwater, hands down. I splurge on this when I split the bill with the couple that routinely tolerates me and I feel bad because I wont share.

Three, if you have a party of eight or less, the wine cellar is very intimate and the service is top notch. We've done it when available on occasion and they are over the top with service, pairings, and dinner. If you have a smaller party for a special occasion, please try to book this space as it's spectacular.

I have more ideas, but I'd rather go back and eat a steak tenderloin with the owner who's there most nights because he cares. This is an A+, best of class restaurant and, if you're in town for a weekend this summer, it's a must. Can't recommend it enough. You'll have fun and eat spectacular food. I've never been disappointed.

This was our third time at Domacin. We have historically saved this trip for special occasions. As everything previously has been nothing short of amazing. This trip was definitely different. We were celebrating both my wife and my birthday. As far as the food. We started with two appetizers that were both good(scallops and wine lovers plate). Main dishes were a different story. We ordered the Duck Breast and the Risotto Bistecca. My wife asked me to try it and we both noticed the risotto was over cooked and mush. Secondly we noticed that there wasn’t any tenderloin tips. So after telling our waiter he took it back to add the tips. Upon it coming back the chef must have reseasoned the dish and it was unbearably salty. Literally inedible and therefor she didn’t eat it. The duck breast was good but also mildly overcooked. Desert we ordered two deserts and bubbles both were good and tasted good with our champagne. All in all the dish was removed from the bill, but Domacin has lost that glimmer for us. My husband and I have visited the wine bar here many times and always had wonderful experiences. One stands above the rest, we were greeted at the door by Rich who we later found out was one of the owners. We sat at the bar where we had the please of Cassandra being our server. She was delightful and answered so many questions for us and gave us a lot of information about the history of the restaurant. Within a few moments of sitting down Alek, the other owner also greeted us and was working behind the bar helping the bar staff. It was really refreshing to see both owners working with the staff and willing to do the harder/dirtier jobs and not pawning them off on another staff member.
