A Fusion of Flavor and Urban Vibes
I recently had the pleasure of dining at a trendy downtown restaurant that left a lasting impression. From the moment I stepped in, the friendly and helpful staff made me feel welcome and attended to. Their warm hospitality added to the overall dining experience.
The restaurant exuded a vibrant and trendy downtown feel, perfectly capturing the pulse of the city. The contemporary decor, stylish lighting, and modern artwork created an ambiance that was both inviting and chic. It was a refreshing change of pace from the usual dining spots.
One of the highlights of this restaurant was its unique and diverse menu. From innovative fusion dishes to traditional favorites with a twist, there was something to suit every palate. The chefs truly showcased their culinary creativity, delivering delightful flavors that tantalized the taste buds. The menu catered to a range of dietary preferences, offering ample options for vegetarians, vegans, and meat lovers alike.
While the restaurant excelled in many aspects, the craft beer menu could benefit from some improvement. Although it featured a decent selection, it lacked the depth and variety that would truly complement the diverse flavors on the food menu. With a more carefully curated and expanded craft beer selection, it could elevate the overall dining experience to another level.
Parking proved to be a minor inconvenience, but it was more a function of the city's layout rather than the restaurant's fault. The subpar parking situation was a trade-off for the prime location and the vibrant street it was situated on. Considering the lively downtown atmosphere, it was understandable and didn't detract significantly from the overall experience.
It's worth noting that dining at this restaurant came with a price tag that matched the upscale environment. While not inexpensive, the pricing was exactly what I expected given the trendy ambiance and the overall quality of the experience. The investment was justified for those seeking a special dining experience and a unique blend of flavors.
In conclusion, this downtown restaurant provided a delightful fusion of flavors, a trendy urban atmosphere, and an attentive staff. With its diverse menu and inviting ambiance, it was a haven for food enthusiasts seeking an elevated dining experience. While the craft beer menu could be improved, and parking was a bit challenging, these minor drawbacks did not overshadow the overall...
Read moreLolo was swell! Sam took care of us along with his fellow wait staff on the second floor. The service was impeccable and he made sure we never ran out of water (sometimes bar service neglects this, which can be unfortunate when you’ve just biked 25 miles). The wait was long in the main dining area, so we were glad to find a table immediately in the bar area. We passed on several other restaurants we were checking out due to lack of vegan options, mediocre ambience, or high prices. The Nicollet was tasty and their chartreuse-y Manhattan wasn’t exceptional but was a great variation on the classic.
The falafel tacos and sweet potato tacos were tasty (which you can get vegan if you take the cheese off the sweet potato taco). Both were delicious, and the sweet potato tacos were a little spicy— which was awesome and welcome considering we were just at the Tilted Tiki across the street where a wing sauce labeled “hot” was only spicy when adding a generous helping of sriracha. Hooray for a decently spicy taco. You only get two tacos but they are larger than your normal 3 taco serving and along with the delicious fries we left satisfied. Wish the sweet potatoes were more strongly flavorful as most of the taste was carried by the avocado and peppers.
Important to note that I’m pretty sure this was one of the few bars/restaurants along the Main Street that didn’t have a huge television playing sports, which was very nice for those of us who are easily distracted and find having a huge flatscreen pretty abrasive to a pleasant atmosphere.
Look forward to dining there again if I ever come up to check out their full menu, despite the fact that there are no vegan/vegetarian entrées (I’m sure the broccolini/Brussels sprouts/salads...

I ordered the lolo burger. The first few bites were great! Hot burger, cooked perfectly medium as requested, with crunchy bacon and dripping in their balsamic A1, cheese melting all over. But halfway through I crunched down on a piece of steel wool. I'd imagine from cleaning the stove it was left behind. I'm not one to make a scene or get bent out of shape so I notified the cook (in an attempt to make sure no one else had this happen). They were very kind and polite and very apologetic. Said they'd get me another burger and Comp it too. But then I got the second burger. Took two bites and it was still raw and cold on the inside, I'm assuming because it was made hastily to try and remedy the situation with the first burger. At this point I was lacking an appetite but still notified the waitress and requested the check. She apologized again, but nothing more was done. I was in no way looking for free food, but if in two tries and an hour later you can't get a burger out to the guest cooked sans metal shavings, I feel the entire meal should have been comped.
Now I don't expect anyone else to have the experience I had, and I know things happen, and that this was an extremely unusual circumstance, so keep in mind that all the food we had was great.
The roasted chicken tacos, WOW were those great! Fresh ingredients, great plating, would recommend those if you go here. The Parmesan tatertots were also delicious and piping hot.
Who knows, maybe next time I'm over in Stillwater I may give this place a second chance, but the first...
