Very cute shop with great gifts! I’m really bummed to share a bad experience because I love supporting local creators. But I don’t want this to happen to someone else.

My significant other purchased a handmade leather Apple Watch band. Once outside the store he put it on his Apple Watch, only to realize the connector was flawed and would not clip onto his watch. Naturally we wanted to return the band since it wasn’t functioning as designed. The clerk let us know there were no returns and then proceeded to grab my SO’s Apple Watch, trying to make the clip fit while grilling us, asking how it should be working, asking what’s not working about it, etc. typical questions, but also an invasion of space and the approach was very unfriendly.

She told us they don’t accept returns, but would honor a return ‘this one time’. And almost did not process the return correctly. The reason I am posting the review is because I watched her put the tag back on the flawed item, acting like she was going to put it back out on the floor for someone else to purchase. We were gifted these beautiful well made ceramic bowls and found ourselves using them almost every night. When we asked the person who gave them to us we were directed to Smith + Trade, what a fascinating rabbit hole I just went down researching this company. Great story, a great business model , people helping people flourish in their craft ,we are more than happy to support. I only wish I could find the "smith" that was responsible for creating such a fantastic bowl. This ceramic bowl was a small size or a proper portion size bowl with specific holes into the side for chopsticks. Beautiful shop with wonderful merchandise. But beware - you can only return for store credit. I bought adorable boots for my grandson but was undecided if they would be big enough (they weren't). Clerk knew of my uncertainty but didn't not warn me they weren't returnable except for credit, nor is that policy posted.
