Great aesthetic. Nice bartender. Met the owner. Nice guy, shared history of his business. Has a pool table that also converts to a ping pong table. Live music the night we went, they serve food.
Why won't we return? There is no 'heart' in the place. For all the owner's knowledge, you don't feel warm and fuzzy. He has the business model down, but the vibe is like a cemetery. There was a kid roaming around. Looked to be 10 years old. I felt for her. Nobody to play with. We were coming to mellow, and apparently, they allowed kids. Maybe it's a thing, the places we hand, no kids, ever. The kid stayed the whole time. Hard to have adult conversation with a 10 y/o on the bean bag chair next to you. The music was great. Felt bad the only place for him to set up was immediately inside side entrance. He had to keep cautioning people to be careful walking through his equipment. People walked through to get to the only bathroom. The owner stated he brought in chemists to make his product better not sure it was worth it. I'm a casual kratom user. Tried his premium 'heavy hitter' product. 32 Oz premium, filtered was $25. Price not the issue but literally a small effect for a short period. Lastly, the owner through shade at competitors. I get trying to sell yourself, great story, didn't feel it was cool. The other places we go, the vibe is great, lots of heart, great vibes, ummm no children. Sad really, we live close, and we're hoping it'd be our new hang out. I wish the owner good luck,...
Read moreI've been a regular for a long time. I've spent alot of time observing what goes on around here. As of recently this place has been ran to the ground, largely because the manager has a massive chip on his shoulder and is blinded by his pride to see it. As of lately the store has completely lost touch with the concept of what a kava bar truly is. The bar lost a vast majority of its loyal community unfortunately and certainly seems like we were never appreciated from the start. There has been many scenerios where the manager has bad mouthed indiviuals to others, as well as intentionally tried to drive them out and caused immature and childlike drama for no good reason. From the looks of it, it's nearly always coming from emotions fueled by jelously and selfishness. It's ridiculous. This bar is not what it used to be, and is nearly vacant nowadays, and for good reason. A large portion of the loyal regulars have jumped ship, and its all credited to a manager who cant keep his mouth shut and is always getting involved in everyone's business and starting issues and drama with others he doesnt like. As well as many other complaints. This indiviual has single handedly ruined this place. I hope it flourishes again...
Read moreMy first experience: “Super vegan friendly and really chill” was my original post. I’ll add that the young lady there was very nice and friendly! It was my first time there, and she explained everything very well. 5 stars. She complimented my daughters outfit and thought she was adorable!
My second experience (11-11-20 at about 9am) was terrible. 1 star (0 if I could). There was a different young lady there, and she hardly welcomed me into the store while she was talking on the phone. She wasn’t friendly at all, opened a tab for me when I didn’t ask, didn’t give me a receipt (perhaps because I was overcharged), didn’t give my daughter the cookie that we asked for initially until I asked again after having to wait for her to make a drink for her personal friend, etc. Also, they had terrible music blasting the whole time- one of the songs had a myriad of curse words in it and in every sentence. That’s not appropriate on a general note, but especially since I had my toddler there.
I’m definitely not ever going back there, unless I happen to walk by and see the young lady that took my order the first time I...
