We wanted to hike in Telluride but remembered disastrous parking adventure in the past. In fact, we have avoided Telluride for many years because of a parking problem we experienced over 10 years ago. However, after researching on the internet we were able to get enough information to find alternatives and the free gondola and parking seemed worthy of a try. We were doubtful but ended up delighted when we found adequate space left at the free parking structure despite the oncoming 4th of July holiday. Everything was well marked once at the lot and getting to the gondolas and finding our way using the 3 free ones into Telluride was easy. The gondolas were very clean, fast, smooth and comfortable. They even allow dogs on some of the cars! Awesome! We managed to keep our party of 14 together. After hiking/snacking/shopping we returned back to our cars easily via the free gondolas and ended a terrific day. Overall, an xlnt experience and we will now be returning to Telluride to enjoy its offerings more often. What an xlnt idea for the city to provide in order to control auto congestion in the city but still get folks into the city center to enjoy the town and spend money to help support...
Read moreTelluride is an absolutely beautiful town, often described as a mini Switzerland with its charming alpine vibe and stunning mountain scenery. One of the highlights of visiting is the free gondola ride, which offers breathtaking views all the way to the top. The ride only takes about 10 minutes, but every moment is filled with gorgeous vistas of the surrounding peaks and valleys.
Once you reach the top, there are plenty of opportunities to explore further. A short hike from the gondola station allows you to immerse yourself even deeper in nature, with crisp mountain air and scenic trails to enjoy. October is a particularly magical time to visit, as the fall foliage transforms the landscape with vibrant hues of gold, orange, and red.
Whether you’re riding the gondola for sightseeing or heading up to start a hike, the views are unforgettable. The combination of the picturesque town, mountain surroundings, and stunning autumn colors make Telluride a must-visit destination during the...
Read moreWe accidentally got on the wrong gondola that lead to Telluride when we meant to go back to Village Market. The younger girl with the dark hair (and a purple streak or something in it) was extremely rude when I asked if we were on the right gondola. She thought I asked we could just ride it all the way around instead of getting off and goes "no but I guess I'll let you" and slams the door on me. Despite her misunderstanding my question, I told her we had no problem getting off and getting back in line to which she turned around in the middle of me speaking and said "it's whatever". The other three gentleman we dealt with were SO incredibly kind, completely stopping the car for my mom who has both knees replaced and treated us with the utmost respect. I've seen other people comment about whom I believe to be this same girl and I hope management takes notice because you simply do not speak to another human...
