Sparky's Old Town Creamery — Restaurant in Tempe

My boyfriend and I came in and we are really disappointed. The girl that helped us was very rude. She has black hair wearing a “my plaid is my favorite season” shirt. We came in March 11 at 4:30. We waited for a good 4 minutes before she even came out from the back. She never said hello or welcome in and just looked at us. The first and only words out of her mouth were “what can I get for you”After I ordered she walked away and my boyfriend had to then get her attention again to order. She sighed as she finished his order and only added one peanut butter cup into my boyfriend’s ice cream. (He added Reese’s and that just seems like a small amount). It was a little over $14 and NOT WORTH IT. She was really nice to the people after us. The ice cream is ok but the service is absolutely horrible and I see why it was empty when we walked in. The tables are also very dirty and the mixing station for ice cream was very dirty as well.the ice cream itself was ok. We sampled a few and I wasn’t thrilled by any of them. I got “mint to be” and if you love toothpaste then you will enjoy it. My boyfriend got fluffernutter and it was grainy. honestly go anywhere else. When she handed him the cup it was covered in ice cream and she walked away. He had to find napkins and clean it all...

In the past, Sparky's was once a Cold Stone Creamery. Even though it's Sparky's now, the ice cream is still delicious. I have been there many times, and it is convenient as I work within walking distance of Sparky's. Whenever I am walking along Mill Avenue and am craving some ice cream, Sparky's is one of my main stops in the area.

The ice cream is delicious. Some of my favorite flavors are Batter in Bed and Banana Cream Pie. However, I have had just about every flavor that they serve, and all of them are delicious in their own ways.

I like the pleasant atmosphere. Nice and low-key place where you can relax and enjoy your ice cream.

The general manager, Connor, is one of the nicest guys I have ever met. He is always a pleasure to talk to whenever I have some time for a friendly conversation during my lunch break at work. Every time I stop by, he ensures I feel welcome and right at home.

Another bonus is that they have a rewards program, which offers five dollars off once you accumulate enough points.

Took my step kids here. It wasn't offered for them to try free samples. My step daughter ordered vanilla but she was served something different. I tasted it to be sure and it definitely wasn't what was ordered. When I told the lady behind the counter that I believe it was a different flavor (different color too), she argued that it wasn't (it was also ordered with a waffle cone and it wasn't given to us in a waffle cone- although I'm sure this girl behind the counter couldn't possibly make two mistakes in one order) I then told her my step daughter didn't like it and the lady told me to throw it away and then proceeded to charge me for both.
