This was the most unprofessional takeout experience I've ever had at any restaurant in my life and I would give 0 stars if I could. Yesterday evening, I placed an order for one entree of beef fried rice (with extra egg and chicken added for a total cost of $24 .91) over the phone after being left on hold for 10 mins. I was given a pickup time of 20mins, which was not a problem as I understand that restaurants are busy during the dinner hour. Upon arrival, the take-out area was crowded with people waiting to pick up and place orders without a hostess/customer service/cashier in sight. After 15 minutes of waiting, two separate customers went to the kitchen area (I'm assuming to find someone to man the desk) and then an employee in a black shirt came out and started randomly checking people out. As he was not enquiring about the order in which we arrived, I spoke up and let him know that he was helping people out of turn. His reply was "he didn't know and that this lady" (not me) was in his ear. As he was gathering my things so that I could check out another sloppily dressed employee came up to the takeout area and said to us loudly "y'all gone have to stop coming back here". As I and most of the people standing there had not moved from the take-out area we were not pleased with being spoken to like that. Several of us spoke up and said variations of "we didn't walk back there, who are you talking to?" and he keep repeating in an angry, loud, rude tone that "all of y'all need to stop coming to the back. The gentleman in black kept apologizing for this rude employee and telling him to stop, but he didn't until he grabbed his coat and stormed off. After the long wait, lack of and rude service, I intentionally left zero tips as I was beyond disturbed by the experience. I noted that my food was in a lunch-sized takeaway bowl at the time, but I just wanted to get the experience over with and leave so I signed my receipt and left. Even though the service was terrible and the food was meh (it had barely any of the extras that I paid for, but it did have clumps of white rice) I still wavered on leaving a review. What sealed the deal for me was seeing an updated charge on my statement for $6 bringing the total to $30.91 for one order of fried rice. This is unacceptable and I'll be reaching out to every office I can simply on principle. There should be no additional charge as the food was mid at best, short of the extras at worst and I didn't tip because I did not receive good service. That said, I'll stick to the Ballston location from now on as this location in Tysons seems to be ill-equipped to be in business- and that is the nicest thing I can say about this experience.
EDIT and Updated from 1 to 4* (based solely on the outcome) I spoke with Jeff, an Operations Manager for this location and he surpassed my expectations in handling this matter. Jeff was prompt, courteous, and professional without making excuses for the behavior of his team. Hopefully, his customer service skills become the standard for this location and the team can rise to his level of...

As a typical Americanized Chinese restaurant, P. F. Chang is sort ok good. It tried hard to provide Chinese and Asian style of dishes, to make a unique decoration and a variety of menu.
However, if you really want Chinese cuisine, it is too Americanized; but if you consider it as an American style restaurant, it is definitely not.
There are always terracotta warriors placed inside or outside the restaurant. To me, a person who understands Chinese culture so well, actually, I don’t feel comfortable as they had been used as funeral Objects in the Emperor's Mausoleum. In Chinese culture, it is strictly taboo.
Fire braised short ribs: ⭐️ ⭐️ Not recommended. This is a typical Americanized Chinese dish. The sliced beef ribs were over cooked, tooo chewy and lack of flavor, while the fried pineapple rice was OK.
Northern-Style Pork Spare Ribs: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ The taste was very good. However the texture was too chewy, or say, dried out. If you like the flavor five-spice seasoning and the feeling of chewy stuff, it is a good selection.
Singapore Street noodles: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ It was OK. Nothing too good or wrong.
Fried Rice: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ it is one of my must-order dishes. I like the flavor of soy sauce. But I found it may be a bit cutting corners now - bigger portion of rice with smaller portion of ingredients.
Kung Pao Dragon Roll: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ it is better than what in a buffet restaurant but not as good as what in a Japanese restaurant.
Handmade dumplings - shrimp: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ the skin was thin and the fillings taste good. However, it is about $13.5 for 6 small pieces. Too pricy. You can buy double amount of dumplings in any comparable Chinese restaurants in DMV.
Handmade dumplings - pork: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ not recommended. I don’t know how to describe, but just say, from the quantity and quality, I don’t recommend.
Salt and Pepper Prawns: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ the taste was good and the prawns were fresh and tender. But, they were just too small! They were just some medium-size shrimps, about 24-30 pieces per lb probably. Not accurate. But let you know, they were definitely smaller than 16-20 pieces per lb shrimps.
Chicken soup: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ the soup tastes good. I like the sour flavor from tomatoes. Again, I felt the portion was smaller that what it was before the pandemic and of course the price was a lot higher.
Service ⭐️ ⭐️ there was almost no service. Yes, all dishes were brought to us by the waitress. That’s why I give 2 stars. The, Nothing else. We had to call the waitress to refill our tea pot several times, bring us some paper napkins and remove empty plates. No matter how messy our plates were, they were never replaced. They had brought two wrong dishes to our table as well.
So sad, such a famous Chinese restaurant has changed to such...
Read moreIt has been awhile since I have been, and I really miss how it used to be. It was remodeled, but it is not as nice looking as it once was. They no longer make the chili and soy sauce mix table-side that was always part of the presentation (and a tasty addition) there was no chili sauce offered like it used to be served, and you used to get half a head of ice berg lettuce with the chicken lettuce wraps, now it is a few pieces of baby romaine or perhaps bib, they are small lettuce cups.
The Chef's meal deal was not bad, considering an order of chicken lettuce wraps now costs about $18, you can get 2 meals for $40 that include them (vegetarian lettuce wraps is not included in this deal.)
The worst thing is that soft drinks are $4.28 each for a coke or an ice tea, and we were charged for refills and our child was charged $1.79 for a kids drink with his $7.99 kids meal ($9.78!!) We paid almost $18 for 2 adults and a child to have soft drinks. OUTRAGEOUSLY EXPENSIVE. We were not told that refills were not free, or I would not have ordered a second.
They are advertising an all day Happy Hour, but it is only available in the small bar, at high top tables or on the patio. I noticed they are offering a Cosmo or a margarita for $5 but I had to pay almost that much for iced tea.
I really hate when a restaurant nickels-and-dimes customers for refills on soft drinks. AT LEAST TELL US YOU ARE GOING TO CHARGE FOR IT.
I cut my finger while at the table, I believe a shard of glass was in my napkin. It cut me on the tip of my finger. I told the waiter, he got me a new napkin, but they did not offer me a bandage or even apologize. When I waited tables many years ago, the house would always offer you a complimentary drink or dessert if you got cut by a broken glass. At least they should have offered me a band-aid for...
