Extremely disappointing experience- would not recommend.

My partner, sister, and I visited Loaded Joe’s in Vail yesterday (10/17) around 5:55 PM, and I now completely understand why the reviews are so low. We went during non-peak season, so there was absolutely no excuse for how poor the experience was.

The blonde woman working was incredibly rude and unhelpful from the moment we walked in. We had to initiate conversation and ask about the “Best Happy Hour in Vail” which was advertised in the Vail Daily and the main reason I chose this spot to show my partner around for the first time. Her response was, “The best I can do is the summer Coors Banquet special for $3.50… maybe like a dollar or two off some beers. Nothing else.” That’s it? If that’s what they’re calling the best happy hour, that’s incredibly misleading.

Still, we ordered three Coors and I even tipped (I was a waitress for years and always try to show the utmost respect to service staff). We sat down to enjoy our drinks, and about 10-15 minutes later (at 6:10 PM) she came over and told us, “I need to sweep so I need to kick you out.” The place is supposed to close at 7 PM. When we mentioned we still had open beer cans, she said, “You can sit on the patio.” It was 38 degrees outside.

We ended up finishing our beers freezing on the patio, completely baffled. I’ve been coming to the Vail Valley for years, and I’ve never had such a rude or uncomfortable experience anywhere.

If you’re visiting Vail, go ANYWHERE else, even Benderz in Avon, where we always have a great time and friendly service. Loaded Joe’s completely missed the mark on hospitality and basic customer respect. Definitely will never be coming back and will certainly be telling all my friends who visit the area as well to stay clear. The poor...

Update The manager called and we talked for a while. Misinformation was cleared up and I am happy how this issue was resolved. Loaded joes is still my favorite locals bar in the valley . Great staff, who are always helpful and fun. Best happy hour around . Good coffee and specialty drinks and ...the best place to meet your friends after skiing ! First I would like to say that I have been coming to joes for 3 years now regularly. Second .. I have always loved everyone who’s works here and it has been great . However tonight . I had the WORST experience I have ever had In vail. I have visited pretty much every restaurant and bar in vail and have never been treated so TERRIBLY than I did by HEIDI...this is the first time I have ever seen her ... I have never experienced anyone more RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL in my life . She literally got in my face trying to pick a fight ... with a loyal patron... . I talked to numerous others and they had experienced her rudeness before ... I even tried to avoid her when I went to check out ... and she came by and threw her finger and her hand in my face .... she is on a terrible power trip or something ... all I know is I’ve been coming to loaded for 3 years .. have spent a ton of money here ... I would consider not coming here anymore because of her .. and would also advise others to avoid coming because of her . I hope that the management there makes a decision that is in favor of the people that keep the place running .. HEIDI is terrible and should not be permitted to interact...

We came in the morning of 12/13 looking for an easy breakfast and decided to eat at Loaded Joes. The girl working the counter (short, dark hair, glasses) was genuinely the rudest person I have ever met working a customer service job. We came up to the counter to place our order, and made a few adjustments to one of the sandwiches due to some dietary restrictions. While placing our order, she continuously rolled her eyes and made comments in a degrading tone. She informed us after ordering that sandwiches come as is, which we were unaware of because that is not stated anywhere on the menu. When we were finished ordering, she gave a mumbled “What is the name for the order?”, when I asked if she could repeat the question she proceeded to (yet again) roll her eyes and yell “NAME.” into my face. To reflect the service she provided us and the way she proceeded to make a paying customer feel demeaned, I did not tip her, I signed my receipt and left the counter. I would additionally like to note that Loaded Joes is primarily self serve, as you place an order at the counter and do not have consistent waitstaff when you dine. As a result of this, she gave the most obnoxious “thanks a lot!” I have ever heard in my entire life. As someone who has worked retail and food service, the way she treated customers was so extremely disrespectful. The food was great and the only saving grace of our breakfast experience, the other taller girl working behind the counter was also much nicer than the one taking orders.
