If I could rate this shop a zero. I would! I unfortunately experienced the worst costumer service ever! So disappointed in the Ben and Jerry’s establishment. I have you know that I will write a letter to the company. To let them know how upset and traumatizing this experience was. August 11th, I happened to enjoy my day at Virginia Beach. I was hoping to enjoy some ice cream to end the day with my family. I happen to wait in line for about ten minutes or longer. As soon as it was my turn. One of the ladies ignored me and proceeded to service the family behind me. In front of my kids!!! That deeply upset me. They continued to serve other guests. I know the girls noticed that I wasn’t served, yet they did nothing. I went up to the girl at the register. I told her that I wasn’t served. And what they did wasn’t nice. It was my turn and it wasn’t fair. I actually felt really discriminated. Instead of apologizing. She proceeded to tell me that I should’ve raised my hand up to let them know I’m next? I was in completely shock by the response. I apologized her, telling her I’m sorry because I didn’t know that. Yet she asked me who did it. And then they never even apologized. Instead she rudely asked me if I wanted to be served. At this point, I didn’t even want to eat because I felt deeply discriminated and judged. The worst part, I don’t even look like the people in front of me or behind me. I am Hispanic, I am much darker. The families in front of me and behind didn’t even look like me or my kids. So it was obviously my turn. Yet they did that. That was deeply unfair to me and my family. I left the store in tears and crying because that sincerely broke me because as a person of color, in 2023, we shouldn’t be treating people like this. I understand people make mistakes. But this was simply...
Read moreThe customer service at this location is beyond horrible! Me and my husband and our small child were really looking forward to cooling down a hot day with some ice cream this past Saturday. We waited in line like we were suppose to, when it was our turn we stood there waiting to be helped and no one even acknowledged our existence a girl with some crazy hair color actually had the nerve to pass us up and ask the following people behind us what they wanted so in turn we asked if we could get two cones and a large bowl ice cream and she flat out ignored us. I then turned and asked a guy wearing a blue polo the same thing if we could get two cones and a large bowl and he too ignored us and had a conversation with the cashier then walked off and still we were not helped. By this time we were passed up by 4 or 5 different groups and I got mad and walked off and only then was my husband asked if he was helped yet by a...
Read moreI love Ben and Jerry's but they've lost some points with me since my friend (who follows a gluten free diet due to celiac disease) and I went in after reading on the website and store door that they could offer gluten free flavors with very low risk of cross-contamination and the employee told us it was "too hard" to accommodate her needs because they would have to open a new container to prevent cross contamination. My friend explained why she needed extra precautions and was again told it would be "really hard" to serve her as they were busy with other customers. After pointing out that the store door had a sign saying that many food allergies, including gluten, could be accommodated, we were asked to wait outside the store for several minutes until she was eventually served. I generally love the ice cream and atmosphere of Ben and Jerry's but this experience was disappointing. We both really...
