Golden City III — Restaurant in Virginia Beach

This is based upon my personal experience. I came to this spot because I came here 4 years ago and the food was delicious. When I entered everyone was in the kitchen so I waited, finally a lady came out and took my order at the speed of light (I didn't mind because it was friday night). We ordered a large special fried rice , small lo mein and an order of spring roll. The same lady came out and dropped the food on or table and said "here okay" and ran back to the kitchen. Me and my wife just nodded and laughed. When we started eating the food was okay, the spring rolls were those from restaurant depot still frozen inside. The thing that concerned us was the fried rice, it had a few pieces which I thought was chicken but it had no flavor, it looked and felt like a piece of fat. When I asked the lady about this meat she said it was white meat chicken, when I was trying to tell her that the texture was not what I expected, she just walked away. Obiously customer service was not their priority, the food was average to poor due to the frozen spring rolls and...

We dined out, but the restaurant itself is very spacious and accommodating. The food was fresh and very good! My kid who usually wouldn't touch an egg roll back home from our regular local Chinese take out place, devoured theirs! She was promoting us to eat ours she thougt I was so good and I must admit she waa correct it was delicious. Also the price was decent, so if your looking for a familiar, affordable, and appetizing chinese food meal and something local so you don't have to wait too long... most definitely try them out! Every family business should be supported by families especially when their food taste like it was made from the heart! I thgt it was super adorable that her kids doodles were in plain sight near the register, bc that's a mom who loves her kids I thgt and I definitely support that kinda energy wholeheartedly. Also bonus they let you grab your own duck and soy sauce packets which is a plus in my eyes... bc in NY they can be so stingy with sauce packages! Lol. Again if your on vacation or a local I'd definitely eat from here...

We discovered this place two years ago when we lived at the beach and though we have moved to the great neck area we still go this area for the quality of the food and the service. Not only that we enjoy the consistency of the employees and are happy when we see the same people working and not new people or new managment every month. They cater to when we want alternatives and special diets. The customer service is always above and beyond and not only that as a food worker, their kitchen appears to be incredibly clean and up to standards. They are also very speedy and never has there been a wait over 15 minutes. We are pleased everytime...
