5 Stars – A Waffle Lover’s Paradise on the Oceanfront
Atlantic Waffle Company is a gem for anyone who loves waffles, whether you prefer them sweet, savory, or over the top decadent. Located just off the boardwalk on Atlantic Avenue in Virginia Beach, this modern and beautifully designed restaurant is bright, clean, and inviting, perfect for a morning treat by the ocean.
They’re only open from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM, so it’s definitely a breakfast and brunch destination, but one that’s well worth planning your day around. The menu focuses on waffles (naturally), where they offer a wide variety of toppings and combinations to customize your own creation.
During my visit, I had the pleasure of being served by Lexi G., who was incredibly friendly and helpful. She worked with me to build what turned out to be my ideal dessert waffle: a fluffy Belgian waffle loaded with three scoops of vanilla ice cream, drizzled in rich chocolate syrup, and topped off with chocolate chips and shaved coconut. It was indulgent, delicious, and absolutely hit the spot. Huge thanks to Lexi for the great service and for helping make it perfect!
Whether you’re a local or visiting the beach, if you’re even mildly into waffles, Atlantic Waffle Company is a must try. The food is fantastic, the vibe is fresh and coastal, and the staff makes you feel welcome. Highly...
Read moreFood taste like freezer food honestly. Very C-level. Nothing overly good some things just not good. If you're hungry, it'll do, but not something youllI be looking forward to going to again. I had the steak and eggs, and pancakes. Nothing worth the walk or drive, i definitely wouldn't wait. No seasoning on the steak we had to use A1 to make it palatable. Ordered two steaks medium and both came out well done. On try two, one steak was medium well-well, still needed A1.
And when we brought up that they served us hard well done steaks the waitress initially acted like there was nothing she could do. She said she "didn't know what she could do about that." She did begrudgingly Take it back and bring out a less well done steaks.
I just sharked through mine because I was starving. Our table wasn't completely clean. One seat was wet and the other had food in it. There was a girl running through cleaning everything (people miss things, of course) but no one else noticed. The seating was good not over crowde, which was awesomeness.

Read moreWe walked in and were greeted by multiple screaming children that yelled the entire time we were there. Thinking it wasn’t the restaurants fault we sat down despite this. We ordered drinks and our waitress (while very polite and nice) messed up what we ordered multiple times. Ex: root beer instead of water and unfamiliar with the menu. We received our food (avocado toast with scrambled eggs and cheese, an omelet with potato wedges and turkey sausage, and pancakes with a side of fruit). To start they forgot to give us the turkey sausage and all the eggs tasted powdered and poor quality. Overall the food was just bland but the potatoes and fruit were exceptionally bad. The fruit tasted canned and the potatoes were over cooked and seemed like they had been freezer burnt. The only redeeming thing was the pancakes (they were wonderful). Lastly, to finish when we received the check we were faced with a 65$ check. The taxes and drink prices were not made clear at all on the menu. We ended up spending 10$ on orange juice because they charged us twice saying the refill was the “small apple”. Also 4$ sodas. In culmination the food was over priced, poor quality, and not worth the time. If you go here the only decent thing...
