On the way to a concert and was needing a bite so we saw this place and checked out the menu posted. We liked what we saw aside from the prices being steep but we knew as seafood and ocean view comes at a price. We were seated an hour later (told 15 mins.) and sat and sat. When a waiter was flagged down he came and we had to wait more. Drinks came awhile after ordered and when we did finally order, our selections were no longer on their menu. So menu posted was old. Well we’re starving now and in a rush to not miss concert. We ordered a fried seafood combo and a steamed one. You know that feeling one gets when the table next to you came after you and then has their meals and has paid and you’re still sitting there starving? Yep. Pics to prove it. Well when I say the meal came late I mean like another hour! Asked about our food from a different employee this time hoping to get some attention as I truly felt forgotten. When the meals come, they are supposed to be a crab cake, veggies, fish and shrimp on each plate. Well my plate had muscles, a obviously dry previously frozen mahi piece and the shrimp with some green beans. Y mans plate had all fried shrimp, beans and mashed taters. So his was missing his fried fish and crab cake and mine was missing the crab cake substituted with muscles. Lol. I’d originally wanted muscles as the posted menu had them but was told they did not have them anymore. Wow! When I finally seen our waiter again as he was mia the most of our time there, I told him. Now we got eight people coming to dispute why I’m wrong here. I nicely explained to each of them what the menu says as to what was in front of us. Well guess what? Some time later after we’ve eaten what we were brought they bring out the crab cakes and fried fish. Great. Have to tote that to the concert now?! Grrr. We got the check a leisurely time later and paid and even still tipped but seriously were not impressed with the service, food quality or prices. Makes me think how much those places are just a tourist trap and I’m a fool for thinking...
Read moreSo my wife and I who get out a little but head to the HBar to have drinks and a single dish or apps to eat while in Virginia Beach. We walk across the street from our hotel, nice location right on the beach/boardwalk. We sit down, at the bar, the bar is L shaped so most bar tenders probably would have had to pay attention to their bar in order to see us. But at the bar and passed by twelve or more wait staff, we wait, and wait, we see the bar tenders, so there are two on a Monday and the bar is 1/4 full. We wait 17 minutes or so, and finally a bar tender happens to peek over and see us. And he asks us if we want anything? I ask for him to bring us drinks, and he does. he comes back 11 minutes later to see if we need anything, I get another drink and ask for a menu, he brings that immediately. I wanted to get my wife a refill but he headed off, he never came back. We sat another 6 or 8 minutes and I finally flagged down the other bar tender and asked for my check. I would have sat there and drank and had food for a few hours but instead we left and went to calico jacks across the street and the service is great but the food is mediocre. I am a Hyatt rewards member as well, so I am Surprised their service at their bar is that bad, the table Service is the...

This place is sort of called Fisher’s Beachfront Bar but really it is H bar (I assume that has to do with the Hyatt as it is the oceanfront restaurant that goes inside the hotel). Not sure why the obfuscation, but I wonder if they purposely don’t want you to be able to research this place so that you just come off the beach or walk by and pop in...
The service isn’t fast or attentive. Place was kind of empty on the inside but they were telling people there was a wait, maybe to sit outside? Or maybe they know how long it takes to get drinks and food? When the wait staff sees a party of 5 (or more) they know they don’t have to work hard because the place AUTOMATICALLY adds 20% gratuity for tables of 5 or more. Going out to eat with 5 people is now an automatic gratuity situation? I’ll throw the BS flag on that.
A sandwich or burger...get this...comes with tortilla chips. If you want fries it’s $2 more. So a burger and fries is $15-$17. Soups are $10. Entrees upwards of $20. I’ll pay those prices if I’m going out to a decent seafood place, of which there are many around. Save your money...
