I found this place after seeing a review from a foodie guy. The guy said it was the best wings in Chicago. I saved it in my “places to go” file whenever I visit Chicago. After landing at midway for a family event, I picked up the rental car, my family and I set out to get our favorite foods for a late lunch. I ordered my food from this place online and PAID for it. It was a 41 minute drive from where we were. Traffic was horrible. I called the restaurant to inform that I was stuck in traffic. The owner asked my name and then said that my order was picked up by someone. I told him that was not possible because everyone I knew was in the car with me. He replied “I don’t know what to tell you because it was picked up by someone”. I said it wasn’t me. He said well nothing he could do because it was picked up by someone by my name. I even told him how I found about his establishment and I was looking forward to eating there. The owner said “well I can’t just give you 6 wings after we already made them and they were picked up. I asked him to return my money. He said that I would have to get it the same way I ordered it…through the website. This was very disappointing because he showed no empathy and offered no apology. 6 wings wouldn’t have cost them anything. They want us to spend our money in places that represent us. Poor customer service at its finest. I guess I will NEVER find out if they are truly the best wings in Chicago. I’m not angry but very disappointed that I drove so far in such awful...
Read moreI called to place an order don't know who but someone answered and placed my order but he couldn't give me a toltal. This was because he wasn't the cashier.I was told my order would be ready in 25 min. I'm glad I decided to call before I placed order I was told by the cashier that my order was not ready although I confirmed with whomever answered the phone that I wanted the order. I was told that I food would be dropped when I arrived I stated I was told my order would be ready in 25 min. The chasier stated don't you it heit will be another 15 min I said yes. When I arrived to the restaurant I asked for hot sauce the cashier said I didn't charge you for hot sauce because you have mild sauce. I stated I can't have hot sauce on th side she said I have to charge you. I asked if it could be complentry because of the inconvenience she told me well it's an hour later I said I know you did have to make the order after I was told something different. I just decided to leave and I did take the order. I tried to patronize this business due to it being a black business and I have before but this was horrible service I didn't...
Read moreGrowing up on the west side of Chicago we grew up eating Uncle Remus on Madison & Central! From Rickettes I ordered an Italian Beef dipped with Cheese & Peppers, 3pc Mixed Chicken, Turkey Tips and Link combo. The beef was decent but it didn’t have enough peppers and the bread was barely dipped. The chicken was okay regular fried chicken. The Turkey Tips was good couple hard pieces but overall good & the Links were just okay. My biggest disappointment was the “Mild Sauce” again being from Chicago we love our mild sauce and this sauce taste just like the BBQ sauce from Wendy’s. I just don’t understand why they don’t have real mild sauce, I’ve been to a Rickettes in Chicago inside of “Hillside Bowling Alley” and they have real mild sauce. This restaurant could be 10x better if they switch to the mild sauce we eat back home. I ordered from this restaurant 2 times in 3 days to give everything a try and to support a Chicago business. “Chicagoans” I would recommend trying if you haven’t been home in awhile and you want a slight taste of an Italian Beef. The food is decent just doesn’t give you the...
