First make reservations.....I was able to do this on-line and they had availability the same day of my request even though it was later in the evening. My husband died recently & this would have been our 20th anniversary. I wanted to take myself on a date to somewhere nice & I'm absolutely beyond satisfied with my choice of Craig's. You could sense the staff were willing to go above & beyond for you to have a subpurb experience. Matt was my server for the night and he made sure it was memorable. Matt made wonderful recommendations from drinks, entrees, and dessert. I enjoyed the mixed drinks that were suggested. The bread they make comes out in a little basket with a crisp white napkin that seemed to provide warmth for such delectable bread. I paired that with the wedge salad in which I believe the chef picked the most fabulous part of lettuce drizzled in just the right amount of toppings & dressing. It was so appeasing to the eye that a waitress, Ana (had a beautiful demeanor), was like, "That's picture worthy!." It really was but even more so delicious. I ordered the chicken parmasean (my hubby's favorite); it was covered in just the right amount of sauce/cheese and the chicken covered the entire plate. In a side bowl was the spaghetti with sauce. It was worthy of the price for the portion. I ate all that I could and wished I could have eaten more but I had to leave room for dessert. I got the butterscotch pudding with butter cookies. The pudding is topped with a salty caramel and really wasn't for me, however, the chef may be able to accommodate if asked. I also got the chocolate chip cookies. Absolutely fresh out of the oven crispy crunch ring engulfed in a warm goey center. Very nice ambiance, dimly lit, and music choice was enjoyable. Extra staff was available to keep drinks full and Victor (?) who brought out the food had such a friendly face. The tempature & timing of food being presented to the table was impeccable. Overall it is a "treat yourself" establishment for those who are on a budget yet I highly recommend whether you are solo or with others. I can't stress how fantastic Matt was at the service he provided in such a high paced environment for the staff. He never made me feel rushed & allowed me to savor each course. Front door usher, Jay, very inviting & took the time to give me other recommendations to continue my night. If only there were one of these on the East Coast near me. Thank you again for a delightfully lovely evening during a pivotal...
Read moreAfter several months of dining-in having been prohibited due to COVID regulations it was nice to be able to go out and sit down at a trendy restaurant on Melrose. There were two areas designated to outdoor sitting - one in the front by the street and one in the back courtyard. We chose the front as it was quieter and more private and with the heat lamps and tables beautifully prepared we were greeted by our incredibly friendly server. Atmosphere: Even though it's been COVID for almost a year and most businesses have suffered tremendously - the atmosphere was giving its best to be warm, welcoming and happy to see you - yes, I mean in terms of the energy - the Feng Shui of the place - it was heart warming to see and feel and very much appreciated by our entire party. Menu: They have a very fair selection of items on the menu including a great Vegan selection which is awesome for those that choose that diet lifestyle. Food: There was a bread basket to start at the table which was nice and warm but it tasted a bit stale to me - it wasn't freshly baked and just placed in the oven I'm assuming from earlier in the day or even the day before. I tried the CLAM SHOW and TRUFFLE PIZZA and they were both really very tasty. The KEY LIME MARTINI was delicious and really well done, but I found the regular Martini to be less impressive. I wasn't expecting shreds of ice in the martini as it waters down the gin. We also ordered the TRUFFLE FRIES and those could've been better. I found that after a few initial top fries what was left was just scraps of fries - which was a pity because they tasted great. It would've been nice to have whole fries at leas for most of the dish. Our deserts were the BLUEBERRY CRUMBLE and CHEESECAKE. The crumble was lovely with cold ice cream on top and hot blueberries on the bottom and turning our tongues blue was fun! LOL However, the cheesecake tasted frozen to me, so I didn't have more than one bite. Service: I rate the service as a 5/5. Our server was welcoming, friendly, knowledgable, efficient and professional. She made sure the entire night that we were lacking nothing. She did an amazing job! Overall, it was a really great night and we will definitely be returning to try their other yummy items on the menu! It's a great place to go and chill...
Read moreBe careful giving your Credit Card here, specially if you open a tab!!! I used to love coming here but last week my sister was visiting from out of town and I took her to Craig's to show her a good time. Not only they LOST her Credit Card but they also put a Charge of $1577 on her card when we only had two drinks. They told us they can't find the card to close the tab and we had to wait all night for them to try and find it. They seemed so relaxed about the whole thing and I said we're not leaving until you find my sisters credit card. They finally got the management involved and realized that they gave our card to a different customer and charged his bill of $1577 to our tab, and they still had his card at the bar. The manager Peter was trying to keep that information from us but I had to really push to get some answers. I asked for them to try and trace the customer and contact them. They were very hesitant and unhelpful and didn't wanna do anything. I finally convinced them to contact the customer and they did and realized he had our Card. They said the customer was very nice and he will come tomorrow to swap cards. No time was given. The managers Peter and Patty couldn't stop complimenting the other customers niceness, but to us they were extremely unprofessional and not even a bit apologetic for this huge screw up, and embarrassing me in front of my sister. They were just trying to get rid of us and On top of that, Peter had the audacity to turn around and tell me "well at least you got free drinks tonight and didn't have to pay for anything" Like excuse me?? As in I'm here looking for freebies? How disrespectful!! Thank god I took the liberty of taking a photo of the customers phone number and contacted him myself the next day. He said he can't make it to Craig's so they lied about that too! Me and my sister had to cancel our plans for that day and drive 2 hours from LA to Palos Verdes to pick up the card. All because of this restaurant's terrible screw up. So warning! Be careful when giving your credit...
