Chick-fil-A is always a favorite. This particular restaurant has always had a pleasant atmosphere. However, there's a new change that makes it a bit difficult to visit, if you want to dine in. The restaurant is located on the side of a mountain, so there's never been any spare real estate around it. Now they've added a second drive-thru lane which circles the building completely, so they have lost much of their parking area. There was a narrow lane for driving around the building, which was between the outer drive-thru lane and where cars were parallel parked along guard rails, in what used to be a lot of slanted parking spaces, which, sadly, no longer exist. We drove around the building twice without finding an open space. We finally moved one of the cones which was blocking a number of parking spaces on the far side, so we could go inside to eat. After lunch, we found out why those spaces were blocked off. There was barely room to back out, due to the addition of the second drive-thru lane. There were hardly any customers inside, but tons of employees (the service is always stellar!), so I can only assume that nearly all those cars parked around the building were employees' cars. Next time we visit, we'll probably park further up the mountain in the Walmart parking lot and walk down to the restaurant -- not convenient or ideal, but at least we can find a space up there! I hope they'll come up with a solution for this...
Read moreGiving the stars because of poor service.. I've been to this one in the past and enjoyed my experience, so I thought nothing of taking my mom there while she is visiting us.. She has a gluten allergy, so I asked for her meal without the bun, the girl rang up a piece of chicken without the toppings and Rand up the fries and drink separately.. Wen I complained, she didn't seem to understand wat the problem was, so i asked for a manager, who proceeded to charge me an additional 32¢ for some lettuce and tomato and didn't even apologize for the mistake.. After I sat down, I looked at my receipt and realized I had just paid a dollar more and hadn't even received the correct toppings for the sandwich I had intended to order for my mom.. I asked for the store manager this time, who refunded me and finally got my mom's food correct, after me and my children were finished with our meals.. Had they apologized just once or had the knowledge of gluten allergy (since their restaurant does serve gluten free products, including buns) I wouldn't have been half as upset and would be leaving a much better review.. I have received much better service in similar situations at their other locations, but this one in Barborsville needs some...
Read moreFor quality and taste of food I give 5 stars. Chick-fil-A is delicious! For dining experience, atmosphere and convenience, I give 1 star. The dining room is “sorta open”, but much is closed off and dirty. All of the shades were pulled down and it felt like a dungeon. No team members were working the dining room so trash was full and some tables were dirty. It’s obvious that “dine in” is not a priority at this store. The pandemic is over. Please fully open your dining room and staff it, and get back to the way you used to be. We stop here 2-3 times a year passing through on vacation. It’s always been a great store with friendly staff and a clean and efficient dining room. No more. Very sad. The parking lot is a nightmare now that they’ve created 2 drive thru lanes. When it was time to leave we were forced to get in the drive thru lane because there was no space to get around the other cars. So we sat for nearly 10 minutes before we could even exit the parking lot. We will continue to be faithful to the company because we love the food and support the companies values. But this location has gone down hill considerably and it’s very...
