Came here on a recommendation from my motel front desk clerk. Walked in and the bartender told us to take any seat. Sat down at a table near the bar. A moment later an employee came over and gave us water. No menus, no how’ya doing, nothing. A couple of minutes later I walked to the front door and grabbed a menu and sat back down. A few minutes later, right before we were going to get up and leave, the bartender came over and took our order. The bartender was awesome and obviously making drinks, but still had to tend to tables. He took our order and the food was out pretty quickly. I ordered a buffalo cheeseburger with bacon and it came with waffle fries. The burger had an interesting taste and was served with romaine lettuce and not iceberg, which I prefer. It wasn’t all that good, I should have stuck with the beef burger. I won’t knock a star because of the taste because that’s the way a buffalo burger tasted. But they lost a star for the interesting start to my meal experience. I understand everyone is short staffed, so I can’t knock them too bad. The bartender shouldn’t be waiting tables but he got the job done. With all the food places in town, I don’t know if...
Read moreOur server Brock was very funny and super attentive. Our friends ordered the rib-eye and fish and chips. They said they loved their choices. They agreed that the cowboy beans were not appealing. But everything else was wonderful.
My husband ordered a ground round Buffalo with grilled onions. I ordered the roast beef. It was a generous portion of roast beef with delicious brown gravy.
We tried the Mexican soup but didn't take a photo of it. It was very tasty like taco soup with hominy and some type of meat tips.
Dinner came out quickly. And we all enjoyed our meal and then ordered dessert. Our friends had apple and cherry pies with vanilla ice cream. I ordered cherry pie with chocolate ice cream.
The chocolate ice cream tasted fruity so I didn't eat it. But the cherry pie had the flakiest crust it was delicious. You should try this place if you are in West Yellowstone. They have a wide variety on their menu so there should be something for everyone in your group.

We even stopped in again the next morning and had...
Read moreSo... you go to the old town cafe. They have a nice looking place. Limited menu (which is nice) then we wait a half hour before a waitress even comes to the table.
We have been ready to go for sometime. So when the waitress finally shows up to take our order we go through and order. Kids stuff was ordered fine. Then My wife orders the Liver. Oops! They are out of that, the fried chicken, the pork chops, the T-bone, the rib eye......
Basically half their menu was gone. So my wife orders something she didn't want, my dad ordered something he didn't want and I had to order something I didn't want.
Ridiculous. Keep your food on hand. It was the beginning of the week. What are you going to do the rest of the week? 10/9/17
UPDATE:
THEY ARE CLOSING IN A WEEK. They will be out of food the rest of the week. Also the fries were soggy and flacid. No "lodgepole" here. Burger was a cheap preformed patty with iceberg lettuce.
The fish and chips? My wife got it and my son got the kids version. The difference you ask? 1 piece of fish. Must have doubled the price for 1 piece of fish.
They also add...
