Stopped in here on March 9th approximately a quarter after 7pm. Huckleberry's website and Google confirmed they were open until 9pm on Sunday. A sign posted on the door also confirmed they were open until 9pm. We strolled inside and we started to approach the counter to order with our 4 year old and 2 year old. Parked a block away.
The two ladies (both Hispanic, one in ball cap, one with glasses) behind the counter looked up from giggling at their phones and said "we're closed, you have to leave." Looking around there was a couple still sitting in the back eating. No questions asked, we immediately left and went to Cold Stone where we knew the staff would be willing to provide service and which btw was also very busy (surprise surprise).
Funny thing too, we drove by about a quarter after 8pm and same two girls still sitting in the closed store not doing anything besides scrolling on their phones. If you're going to sit in a store and not work while store is still supposed to be open, lie to incoming customers and tell them the store is closed, at least could you not be so lazy that you didn't even lock up? at least walk the 15 ft to lock the door maybe? completely understand it is tough to find decent staff now a days though.
Anywho, looked like a cute enough place but given this experience absolutely would never return or...
Read moreMy husband and I went to Wisconsin Dells for the very first time and today on Wednesday we went to have dinner at a place called Mac's macaroni and cheese shop and then we were going to get some ice cream at huckleberry ice cream and bakery next door. However, on the last day of our vacation, when we planned to do these things, when we arrived, we found a note on the door saying they were closing at 4 o’clock for a staff party. Very unfortunate because they did not bother to tell people that as we stopped in two days ago to take a look and we’re here again yesterday, and there were no notes on the door at any point in time in the last couple of days to indicate they would be closing early in the middle of the week on Wednesday, still during their season. Such a shame that they couldn’t have their party either on a Monday night or perhaps wait until your season is over before you decide to close down and deprive customers of coming to your establishment. There’s a second location of the macaroni shop, but they too closed down today for a staff party. Do not recommend that you go here unless you call first because this is what you...
Read moreA really nice spot for a quick break while enjoying your walk around this shops in the area. Huckleberry is surrounded by many typical tourist attractions (gift shops, etc).
The atmosphere in this place is quiet with ample amount of seating. The service was quick despite being relatively busy. The selection is great with a good number of sugary pastries and ice cream as well.
The price is excellent, especially considering the tourist vibe and area. We had two scopes of ice cream, a slice of chocolate cake, and a slice of coffee cake. The ice cream felt like it was three scopes. The chocolate cake was a little dry. The coffee cake, warmed up,...
