I am disgusted with the scam run by this cafe. This cafe is the first cafe that you see as you enter the street with the cute cafes beside the train track, and as soon as I entered the street the cafe waiters forcibly ushered us into their cafe using time pressure and fear of getting run over by the train as their tactic to leave us no choice essentially, telling us the train is about to come and that we NEED to go behind/inside their cafe to avoid the train and that "police" don't allow people to walk along this street right now. We sat down as told and ordered the overpriced coffee and beer. We found out later that the train wasn't going to arrive for another 45 minutes, so we ended up stuck to our seat in a cafe we wouldnt have chosen (there were cute cafes with better views down the road where cafes were on two rather than one side of the track). We could have been exploring the street and taking photos in that time instead, time which was wasted due to the greed of this cafe. Not only did this cause me great anxiety, it also led me to sit for 45minutes waiting anxiously for the "imminent" train, as well as upset in my stomach because they took advantage that I was not well...
Read moreI read so many reviews on here that are horrible. I visited here and have spoken to the owner. and you guys need to keep in mind that:
Your entry and presence are at the invitation of the owners of the coffeeshops. You cannot enter without an invitation, and you could be asked to leave when the police show-up and do an inspection. Note that you might feel weird, but these people are literally risking their livelihood to give you those experiences that you look for.
You are not guaranteed sighting of the train. This is not a fault from the coffeeshops, but the fact that many westerners have been violating safety precautions and many have injured or died from ignoring safety precautions and guidance - which is why you are now not allowed to enter freely.
Outside of those tips, this coffee shop is amazing and honestly I love their Bac Siu. Just be nice, be aware, and understand the situation. 10/10...
Read moreOn my recent visit to Ha Noi, I discovered a café that quickly became my favorite. I was impressed by the quality here. Beyond coffee, I tried their chicken pho and bao bun, both were delicious and perfectly seasoned. This family-run business has a cozy, welcoming vibe, thanks in part to the caring and lovely grandma who often greets customers herself. The view is beautiful. Note that there’s a bit of a language barrier, as the staff aren’t fluent in English, which has led to some misunderstandings regarding area restrictions enforced by train station authorities, not the café. Understanding this will enhance your visit to this...
