BE CAREFUL: OVERCHARGING

Quick version: English menu suggested you should pick the hotpot set as it is easier for you, however, when we did order that way our server got shouted at in the street for allowing us to. We were also overcharged.

In depth: Sick of trying to find well reviewed places on Google we stumbled upon this place. The meat was kept in the freezer and everything looked clean, success! We looked at the menu and wanted to order hotpot. There were options for sets for 1/2/... people. When we asked what was in the set they told us it was beef and chicken and shrimp and clams... we weren't overly hungry so ordered beef x2, noodles x2, veg, and drinks. This confused the first server so they asked for help from a fluent English speaking server. He took the order and looked after us. Halfway through our meal a more senior member of staff shouted at our second server right next to our table in vietnamese. All we understood was "set!", so we put 2 and 2 together. At the end of the meal they showed us the bill and we noticed they were overcharging the beef (75000 rather than 65000). I mentioned this and the English speaking server, who said it is an extra charge for not buying a set. (That's fine but should probably say on the menu). At that point I accepted and paid. On reflection we should have paid 180000 and ended up paying 265000 so who knows what we were paying extra for. Also the cheeky beggers asked for a review at the end of the meal.......

During our vacation here in Vietnam, we discovered an amazing place in the Old Quarter called Lẩu Nướng Corner Z Hotpot, and it was truly one of the best dining experiences we’ve had! The food was absolutely delicious — every dish was full of flavor, perfectly cooked, and served hot and fresh. The broth was rich and tasty, and the variety of ingredients made the hotpot experience so enjoyable.

What made our visit even more special was the staff. Everyone was super friendly, polite, and very approachable. Even though we’re from the Philippines, they made us feel comfortable and welcomed, which made our dining experience even more memorable. It’s always great to find a place that not only serves amazing food but also treats guests with genuine hospitality.

Amazing street barbecue! We came across it a few times before finally trying it: no disappointment! The meat is good and very well seasoned; the service is really nice and the people are friendly and are taking really good care of you and your plate.
