Total breakdown in the kitchen, and at the front of house.
I picked Luna d’Autunno for a nice Valentines meal with my girlfriend. We ordered two pastas, a salad, and the bruschetta. The bruschetta was mostly because we wanted something simple that could come out quickly, as we were quite hungry. What innocent fools we were.
It became clear pretty soon that the restaurant management had completely broken down. Waiters wandered from table to table, from room to room, with dishes of food asking “is this yours?” The table beside us, a large family, canceled half their order and left looking quite upset. Another table waited for ages, received only a few sad sodas, and left without eating. Our food came one dish at a time, over the course of two hours. The bruschetta never appeared, and we asked them to cancel it at minute #107 of waiting (bruschetta makes for a poor dessert). They said they would. They confirmed they did. But it was still on the bill when we went down to pay. (They didn’t demand that we pay, just another instance of literally nothing going right)
The once positive thing I can say is that the staff was apologetic. They explained that there had been some breakdown in their ordering system. But to me it’s inexcusable that, knowing this, they continued to accept more guests. During our last half hour there, they sat four Spanish travelers next to us. Half an hour later, as we left, they still hadn’t gotten their menus.
Finally, after we’d paid and were waiting for our grab, one of the house managers came out and cheerfully asked us how we’d enjoyed our meal. He was very sweet and sincere but it’s like… bro 😂… You just watched me and every other table on our floor leave unhappy. I asked you, personally, multiple times, where our food was. You think we were having a good time? It just communicates that he was totally unconnected from what was happening.
Everyone was sweet. No ill intentions. And writing a bad review isn’t fun. But wow. That was a memorable end to an otherwise good Valentine’s day. Can’t ever come back here, or...
Read moreI chose this place based on its reviews and the hotel recommendation. Had high expectations that ended in a poor experience. It was a poor choice. Lacked atmosphere Meal timings were way off -each meal was delivered upto 10mins after the previous one so we all ate separately. Food was very bland . 5/10 Wouldn’t recommend sadly. We were a group of 4. My friends ordered Aperol spritzer. They were extremely small in size compared to other drinks we’ve had in Hanoi and Vietnam . The big issue we had was that each of an our meals arrived separately. The first arrived and I waited for the others although after sometime it was evident there would be a long delay so i ate my meal. Towards the end , the 2nd meal came out . Once again same issue . Once my firmed finished his meal the other 2 meals came out . It was extremely poor timing and the worst timing for meal delivery I’ve had. When we paid we were asked about how everything was. We gave an accurate account of our experience. The woman taking the payment apologised but no compensation was offered. Considering the significant delay in the serving of the meals , some compensation would have been appropriate -you don’t go to dinner as a front all individually eat at different times , but this is what happened . Based on the overall experience wouldn’t recommend . Whilst I appreciate not everything always goes to plan , it’s about the way things are handled . Sadly when we brought to their attention the issues -of which they obviously were aware since they were delivering the food , they way it was handled was poor and there was zero accountability, zero responsibility and zero service recovery . This place also wasn’t cheap and was on the more expensive side of things we looked at which makes it even more...
