I really wanted to like this place, it was a lovely setting and the food looked beautiful. The entrees (fried mushrooms and the spring rolls) were great (besides the spring rolls being not very well drained of oil) and the menu looked really interesting. The bathrooms are clean and there's nice music. But The downstairs was too warm and no fresh air so not very comfortable for eating, no serviets until asked and english not great, which is fine but we very specifically asked if the bun cha dish was sour and the waiter could only say chilli. No attempt at Google translate or to ask someone else. Unfortunately that meant my husband ordered the buncha which turned out to be, quite honestly and very disapointedly, one of the worst meals he'd ever had in his life. It just tasted strange. We tried some and left the rest. The miso ramen was quite bland and very starchy and tasted absolutely nothing like miso, I think the noodles had been cooked in the broth so just made it thick too. The egg in the ramen was awesome. The seaweed overtook the light taste in it. I don't want to be harsh but I also don't want others led astray since it can be a little tricky to find good veggie/vegan (with confidence) in Hanoi. Suggestion-provide more information on the menu about what flavours the dishes are so that people can make more informed choices. Aircon up, that balcony upstairs is cute as, use it. And if something doesn't taste like it should (miso ramen) just call it...
Read moreI entered this restaurant as a few friends were sat in eating and i wanted to join them. The moment i sat down i was hurried to order as they'd be apparently closing soon, which wasn't at all mentioned online in closing times at all. When i eventually ordered my food, it didn't take too long to arrive so that's good. The prices are a bit much for what you get, but some foods might be worth it. I ordered the curry with naans, and the curry was very bland. Bland enough for 3 of us to poor a lot of chilli and soy sauce into it to try make it more appetising. The ramen however looked quite delicious, i got a try from some friends and it was quite nice. If i go again, i might try a different meal and see if it is...
Read moreWhile I’ve seen many drastically overrated restaurants here in Hanoi, some probably due to inexperienced travelers excited (naturally enough) about their fresh experiences here, and others apparently from fake reviews, this is NOT one of those places. The place is beautiful, the food was both delicious (especially my Malaysian curry) and beautifully presented and the air conditioning was greatly appreciated. Our server was pleasant enough though unable to answer most of our questions, even when presented in Google translate. He simply didn’t know much at all about the food he was serving, it seems. Still, an excellent experience....
