Our stay at the Hanoi Esplendor Hotel & Spa was truly exceptional. While it is officially rated as a three-star hotel, our experience there felt every bit as luxurious and personal as a five-star establishment. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home, turning what could have been just a comfortable stay into an unforgettable experience.
The team at Hanoi Esplendor set a new standard for hospitality. Each member of the staff played a significant role in ensuring our comfort and happiness:
Gam (Alex), the bellman: Gam greeted us with a warm smile and helped us settle in seamlessly. His attentiveness and friendliness were evident in every interaction, whether it was assisting with our luggage or simply offering kind words as we came and went.
Trưởng (Chris), the receptionist: Chris was incredibly professional and helpful. His knowledge of the local area and his dedication to ensuring a smooth check-in and check-out process left a lasting impression. Thái (Lena), the best receptionist and hostess: Lena was a standout member of the team, helping us with all our day-to-day plans. She made wonderful recommendations for local attractions, dining, and activities, and ensured every detail of our itinerary was perfectly arranged. Her genuine care for guests made her an invaluable part of our stay.
Thành, another receptionist: Thành was kind and efficient, always ready to assist with any requests. He complemented the overall warmth and professionalism of the reception team.
Mr Vũ, the owner: M Vũ’s personal touch was evident throughout the hotel. It’s clear that he has cultivated a team and an atmosphere that prioritize guest satisfaction above all else.
The rooms were spacious, clean, and beautifully designed, with attention to detail that exceeded our expectations. The décor struck the perfect balance between modern comforts and a cozy atmosphere. The amenities were thoughtfully chosen, making the space feel both luxurious and homely.
The hotel's ambience was serene, offering a peaceful retreat from the bustling streets of Hanoi. Whether it was the soft lighting, tasteful furnishings, or the quiet, welcoming vibe of the common areas, everything about the hotel exuded warmth and comfort.
What truly sets Hanoi Esplendor Hotel & Spa apart is the way they made us feel—not just as guests but as valued members of their community. It’s rare to find a hotel where the staff genuinely cares about your well-being and goes out of their way to make your stay extraordinary.
Though it’s officially a three-star property, the hospitality, service, and overall experience rivaled that of any five-star hotel. I wholeheartedly recommend Hanoi Esplendor Hotel & Spa to anyone visiting Hanoi. Whether you're staying for a short trip or an extended visit, you will leave feeling refreshed, cared for, and already planning your...
Read moreI’ll just start off this review by saying I’d give 10 stars out of 5 if I could.
I typically am not a huge fan of hotels in general, as I can sometimes find being cleaned after and looked after everyday to be a bit of an invasion of privacy,
I know that might sound a bit strange but I usually like taking care of things myself and can be very skeptical of professional people who offer to do things for me, I need a personal touch to feel comfortable & trust being looked after.
However this hotel has the most personal (yet somehow still professional) staff I have ever experienced, by a very very long way. The entire reception team are incredible but as many other reviews have mentioned; Kris in particular is the heart and soul of the hotel, he will remember your name from day one, he is relaxed and open yet professional, he will suggest activities that might suit your travel style (he is a great judge of character) but he will not force them on you or make you feel pressured that you have to do it. Oh yeah he also has A+ English if that is a worry for you
I can guarantee you that if I wanted nothing but professional service from him, he would have sensed that too and nailed it to a tee.
Other than the amazing service team, the rooms were fantastic, clean and have most-all of the amenities you would expect, the beds were the comfiest we have had on our 4 months of travelling (and they give 4 pillows on the bed which is a must for me!)
I personally really liked the location, in the heart of the old quarter, but not in the thick of it to the point where it is loud and chaotic. There are fantastic: cafes, restaurants, spa’s within 5 minute walking but 15 minutes and you are right in the middle of old quarter
It’s quiet at night compared to other places
Now I’m trying think of some negatives
The hot water & pressure can be a little inconsistent but even at its worst it’s satisfactory and at its best it’s incredible. That’s literally the only slightly bad thing I can think of
Oh yeah! They also arranged flowers and a cake for my girlfriend’s birthday! Which helped to make it just that little bit more special.
TLDR: book here it’s great value & quality, Kris is awesome and if he ever leaves here I will go stay wherever...
Read moreThe hotel is conveniently located, not far from the city center. There are many bars, cafés, laundromats nearby, and the most delicious Bun Bo Nam Bo. The hotel has good sound insulation, so you can barely hear the street. It looks new.
At first, we were checked into a room on the 2nd floor. But we almost immediately asked to move to a higher floor due to the smell and because we were staying for a long time. The next day, we were given a room on the 6th floor, which was more spacious. And it was an amazing room. We slept well there, the air conditioner was positioned perfectly and blew downward. On the 2nd floor, the AC blew directly on the bed, so we had to turn it off and sleep without it. It was stuffy and hot, and we barely slept. But we couldn’t sleep with the AC on either, as we would’ve gotten sick due to its position. On the 6th floor, the AC was thoughtfully installed.
The room had a large bed, a soft blanket, drinking water, and a minibar. All the bathroom essentials were provided. Spacious shower. Everything was clean. Housekeeping came every day. The room had a peaceful atmosphere.
Breakfasts were good — omelets, pho, buns, rice, noodles, fruit, even pancakes, and more. The only downside was that the air conditioners in the dining room were turned on too strong, and on the first day I got a stiff neck. On the following days, we asked to turn them down.
There’s a massage service on the first floor, but we didn’t use it.
The staff were very friendly. They opened doors, helped with luggage. We had previously stayed in a similar hotel in another part of the city, but it didn’t have the same level of care for guests as this one. It was very pleasant. They also called us a taxi to the airport and let us check out later for an extra fee, which was very convenient. Chris was always happy to see us and incredibly helpful and kind. We might return to this...
