A must do in Vietnam!
We were eager to do a coffee workshop but since Hanoi has so much to offer we hadn’t gotten round to it until the afternoon on our final day. We came here hoping they would be able to squeeze us into an afternoon session and we were welcomed by Trang who gave us the class immediately- no waiting around and just us!
She was absolutely lovely, very chatty and made us feel comfortable from the moment we walked in- even running us around to an atm on her bike before we began as it is cash only (our mistake!).
They have a few class options, we chose 5 coffees as it included our favourite- salt coffee. You also make filter coffee (phin), coconut coffee- iced or hot to your preference, egg coffee- with coffee art, and orange coffee. You also get a Vietnamese donut-like snack! Trang made the class engaging and obviously knew what she was talking about, willing to answer any of our questions about the process or the coffee. Just overall a fun and engaging class, we would highly recommend!
On a side note, Trang recommended us a couple local lunch spots which we tried out and it was a delicious Bahn Mi, maybe our favourite- so...
Read moreWe had an enjoyable morning visit with Mr. Dang for his coffee history and preparation of five types of coffee both cold and hot, plus a special coffee at the end.
Dang combines his past experiences with a friendly hands on approach to experience a quality preparation of each coffee. Dang discussed nuances of each coffee being prepped, including, for example, how many coffee shops will likely prepare a hot version of salted coffee (Cafe Muoi).
We recommend going early morning as it was not crowded for a relaxing weekday class.
At the end, we did the yogurt coffee as a last special prep. We did not get to prepare the banh mi ourselves. The banh mi could use improvement as it was not very full of ingredients. Other than that, the coffee class with Dang's enthusiasm as a coffee prep evangelist is something we take with us as we now make tasty Viet...
Read moreI am not a coffee drinker at all but knew that my friends would enjoy this. I randomly stumbled across this place on TripAdvisor and this is my favourite class we took during our trip on the various cities across Vietnam. Dang is very kind and knowledgeable and has converted me into a coffee drinker. All the drinks were absolutely delicious (you know it’s good when you are dairy intolerant and still risk it because it is THAT good!). I also appreciated that he asked who is alcohol-free to ensure that people who are sober/could not drink for religious reasons could be catered to in our group. I would 1000% recommend this to any coffee and non-coffee lovers out there. My favourite drink was the hot coconut coffee so get ready to drink it by the gallons! Thank you for having us in your lovely store Dang, and congratulations on being the best coffee...
