Yard House — Restaurant in Los Angeles

Yard House is definitely a fun place to enjoy dining. There is a wonderful selection of beers and cocktails. We do not drink so I cannot comment, but I would like to say that the selection is vast. There is a lot of seating inside and outside and you can feel comfortable here with family or on a date. We experienced nachos, pizza and sliders. With the sliders came our choice, sweet potato fries. All of the entrees were delicious. The nachos and pizza were ok. The sliders were amazing. We went during happy hour which is 3pm - 6 pm and a select choice of options are half off. I don’t know if I would pay full price for the options we chose but at half price it’s a deal for what you get. The nachos come with jalapeños which are too spicy for me so I simply did not eat the jalapeños. The pizza was full of meat, crust flimsy. The sliders, again…these are what you want! The staff is very busy and I wouldn’t say that they are attentive to you. I wouldn’t say that the staff greets you with a smile. There’s a table top machine on your table where you can pay for your meal using plastic at the table and not have to deal with the servers. I would eat here again and I would say that Yard House would be very fun with an after work group or with family that’s visiting from out of town. Parking could be an issue to this establishment, so keep that in mind when making reservations. Allow yourself time. The location is great! It’s in a great fun area that you’ll want to explore. I went to dinner with my mom yesterday 5/11/24 around 7:20pm before an event. We were seated right away. The first table had food on the seats and juice spilled between the two tables. The problem with that is my mother is on a scooter and obviously can’t maneuver so that was a hazard. So we asked to switch tables the second table had so much trash underneath the table. So once again we switched tables and the third table was fine. One of the waiters said they just finished a really big party so we thought maybe they didn’t have time to clean up but it’s still unacceptable. My mother went to the bathroom and came back to the table. She saw the manager he approached the table she said “I just want to let you know the bathroom needs some attention.” He said “ok thanks for telling me.” Our waitress was really good, the drinks were good and no complaints of the food. Before we left to go to our event I had to use the restroom, walking in the hallway to get to the restroom there were tissue and paper towels on the floor. I get in the restroom women were in there scattering trying to figure out what to do. The restroom was DISGUSTING! The broom and dust pan was left with trash inside. Tissue and paper on the floor in the stalls. There were NO TISSUE in any of the stalls and barely any seat paper! We are women and we need to wipe. That was unacceptable. They need to do better. I’ve gone here two times and both times were terrible. The first time my child wanted a virgin piña colada and the waitress said she couldn’t do it because she “needed an ID” she’s a child she doesn’t have one. And you need an ID for a virgin drink??? Ridiculous. We decided to give it another try.

Second time around the server was good nothing to complain about but also nothing extra nice and welcoming. Just did her job asked what we needed and left. The food arrived. The wings were good again not great. We also ordered sweet potato fries that were soggy and the pancakes with fried chicken and the pancakes were also soggy. Gross. I ordered the chicken lettuce wraps with shrimp replacement and they brought me a plate with a piece of lettuce some sauce and shrimp in this fried edible bowl that was tasteless it literally had no flavor. I’ve had lettuce wraps before and there’s also a lot of other ingredients like nuts and veggies. This one? Nope. Just a piece of lettuce and shrimp 🤣 Even tho I was embarrassed to complain about the food it didn’t sit right with me to just sit there and pay full price for a meal we didn’t even enjoy. So I complained to the manager about the food and we got a discount but I still left a good tip. I will not be coming back here it doesn’t have a welcoming environment and the food sucked.
