This was absolutely the creepiest and worst āhotelā ever. I was even afraid for my daughter and I to sleep The one night we were there. I honestly think that all their good reviews are either people That they have paid to write it or feel guilty.
The thing is the day before we arrived they sent us a personal message apologizing for the mess and that it was under construction etc and that they needed us to rate them an 8 or above. How dishonest! at first I said I understand and donāt worry⦠yet I donāt want to be dishonest about how terrible it was. I am reading old reviews from People And apparently they have said This for years ā sorry about the construction.ā
First of all I do love quirky and old thingsā¦and religious things so that was not the problem. But it was beyond that/ It was very uncomfortable and dark, silent, dirty, rundown, junky, creepy ( random door covered up by a tapestry in my room ), or the neon lights in the night outside our door, or the headboard with a huge religious art over it but the Back of it was a window with a light on it. It was silent and odd.. i tried looking around and the staff came out and stared at me. It smelled musty / an old aroma that I still smell and had a mix of bizarre religious art yet had a sexual type of theme or the sculpture of the naked girl outside was also weird.
There is definitely something up with this place.. not sure what and donāt really want to know. Again, I donāt feel good about leaving a negative review but I have to be honest. There is something very creepy about This place and I wouldnāt go back if someone paid me. This should Not be rated as a hotel or restaurant -Literally Empty and no food or people Anywhere and the āhotelā is more like staying at someoneās old house that you do not trust and want to get out ASAP.
Before you go there do not be fooled by the āauthentic charmā they advertise. Read the other questionable reviews, I know Iām not...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreBest hotel stay ever! We stayed in a āfamilyā suite with two bedrooms and one bath shared between the two. It slept five, but we had three people. As the owners state, the house is around 400 years old and also contains some very old furniture. To me, this added to the charm. I loved details like lots of windows with two-deep wooden frames. The rooms were clean and roomy. The beds were comfy. The bathroom was minimal, as they often are when they have been added to old houses, but it looked new and was clean. I saw that some people said that their towels were not changed. I did not know, until asking, that it is customary to leave your key at the front desk, as a signal that you need your room cleaned.
There is a courtyard to enjoy. One day, when sitting out there, a staff member came by and offered to serve us drinks, even though it is not a restaurant area (the restaurant was closed during our stay and I didnāt ask why). They are one of the very few hotels which serve Augustiner beer, which was my favorite of all the beers I tried in the area (Switzerland, Bavarian Germany and Austria). I even went down the hall and was able to enjoy a sitting room that contains some very unique antique furniture. There, I borrowed a German phrase book from the bookshelf. The staff were all very kind, I guess because the property has been in the same family who built it years ago. There were photos of family members around the house. It really is like staying in a friendās home. I was there in early May and it was quiet. I was in the area for three weeks and this was my favorite place to stay. Oh, and it is a great location, as it is a short walk to a tram stop and also to the old part...
