Osteria Cavalli — Restaurant in Salzburg

Had dinner a few nights ago and the experience was decent. The food was tasty and proportions were fair but they don't have the best service. Some woman brought her dog in a carrier and it was her birthday so she had a large party. Every time she got up to greet a guest the dog barked like mad but no one ever said anything. When my wife returned a few days later to order takeout, they turned her away at the door. It was 10:32 and they said the kitchen was closed at 10:30 even though the restaurant was open until 11:30pm. They literally turned away money 2 minutes after the kitchen supposedly closed because they feel like not cooking. NOWHERE online nor in person does it say the kitchen stops service at 10:30pm. When my wife mentioned that this must be a cultural misunderstanding because where we are from, they post the closing time for the kitchen and this should be posted in the future, they told her it was no misunderstanding, that is simply how things work(incredibly disrespectful). Not worth your time or money, regardless of the quality of food. Quality of service is equally important and they clearly do not care about that whatsoever, even when they obviously...

We came here as a suggestion from the hotel we are staying at as we were hungry for good Italian food. Multiple people suggested this restaurant, and for obvious reasons. There was a large group of us so we started with two of their appetizer samplers. One was seafood based and one was meat & cheese based. We ordered a variety of pasta, dishes, and pizzas for our dinner entrées and we decided to split them all. They were very accommodating with bringing us different plates so we could all try the different dishes. We tried a few different bottles of wine from their full list and they were all phenomenal. We ended up trying the desert sampler since the appetizer sampler was so good and that was absolutely amazing. The service was top notch, the food was amazing the entire experience was great! Strongly recommend them for anyone looking for a great Italian restaurant...

Great experience. Tasty Italian food. Impeccable place. Professional and helpful staff. We were in the mood for some Italian food and after checking 2 other places (one was fully booked and the other one was closed for staff holidays) and walking around the city 6 km we ended up at Osteria Cavalli (a restaurant near the residential area where we were actually staying). Best decision ever! I had a big and tasty Minestrone and a creamy, mouth watering, vegetarian risotto. My wife had a seafood risotto that was really good too. For dessert we had an authentic, delicious Tiramisu. Everything was impeccable: the service was excellent, the staff was really attentive and the atmosphere great.
