We chose this hotel primarily due to it's central location in the old town. However, a word of caution for travellers arriving by train that you have to find a taxi from the train station to bring you to the hotel. But you have to call the taxi company when you arrive so that they will send one to pick you up. Otherwise, you have to wait outside the train station to see if there is any that might be there and the wait can be quite a while. The information counter staff at the train station will NOT help you to call. Alternatively, you may take a bus to the town bus station and walk about 10 mins to the hotel.|In terms of infrastructure of the hotel, it is quite modern although there are some issues we noted eg the extremely erratic lift, the shower water pressure and temperature, non provision of bedroom slippers and lotion, etc. |Despite the above inadequacies, we are so blessed with and extremely impressed by the outstanding services of the front desk staff, Foued. When we enquired about the taxi service to the train station on our return leg, he provided such detailed information on both the timing and fare. After that session, he remembered the date that we were leaving. And one day before the actual date, he approached us and informed us that there would be road closure within the old town because of a motor racing event taking place on the date of our departure and thus the taxis would not be able to enter the old town to bring us to the train station. He provided us with a few alternatives for consideration and even recommended the most appropriate one considering the luggages that we may be carrying and possible traffic conditions that day. Eventually, we took one of his suggestions to walk a short distance to a location outside the old town so that the taxi may pick us up to the train station. He took great care to ensure that he called the taxi company when we left the hotel and time it such that we do not have to wait too long at the waiting point where the taxi would be picking us up. He also followed up with us via WhatsApp to ensure that we successfully boarded the taxi and was sent to the train station on time safely. This is really service at its peak! We were especially touched that he made the effort to remember our query about the taxi to the train station and the date, alerted us to the road closure situation within the old town and gave us alternatives so that we can get to the train station on time and safely. So, we would stay at this hotel again and recommend anyone to stay here as you can't go wrong with such staff who provide such...
Read moreWorst hotel experience by far !in more than 20 years travelling : no communication, no parking no covid security ; bad material and manager scam.
First of all : i got no answer to my mail before check in : i sent 2 messages via booking without any answer
Second : they didn’t reserve the parking i asked in the email : THE manager said me: " don’t worry we have a parking at 2-3 kilometers distance". In fact there is no parking inside hotel . They have one parking at 400 meters distance and one other at 3 km .
No cars are allowed to enter the center without a local tax payed by the hotel for registered guest cars , so if the hotel doesn’t answer you and register your car you have a good chance to take fine(another negative advice last year by an italian related the same thing)
I payed 58 euros for 2 days parking i managed to get the closest one after hard negociation. The manager told me his reception and staff don’t treat mails, mails are treated by another service ??
Third : the manager and the staff payed the Car guest local tax for only one day , so for check out enter our cars in the center for taking luggage was illegal and we should have take another fine.
Fourth : the luggage/Shuttle service is shared with another hotel of the same group with a minibus, on second and final days the luggage man service was more than 70 or maybe 80 years old, so it s Dangerous to charge him to bring luggage, in fact he ws not able to put on the Shuttle(that had not enough space for luggage for a family) . And i was compelled to go look for my ca and come back with car.
Covid mesures are not respected, you got an automatic e mail saying that because national law you need a pass to check in or you l get a antigenic test at hotel : We are vaccinated but they did’nt check or ask us at check in.
No gel in strategic points
Last but not least : the manager is a totally scammer : he charged me 70 euros because toilette cover broke(my weight is 90 KG) ,
It there was a little weaknees before i sat and its first time a cover toilette got broken on a travel in my wole life.
The manager told me for justify the charge : " i rented a car last Week and i was charged of 350 hundred euros for a damage who was not ther but it s my fault… i shoud have controlled" So we understand the manager compare his attitude to a scammer car rental company ; dear italian friend i’m glad to see you consider a client should take picture of the whole room at each check in. Like we do with car rental.
A potential good hotel but a really horrible staff and...
Read moreMy husband and I were here for one night.
The room was clean and very cozy. We loved the extra space and the sloped ceilings. Great location, in a quiet town with a wonderful view of the castle. Very picturesque.
What hindered me from giving this place five stars is one of the staff members who checked us out on our last day. I did not note down her name. However, she is very incompetent in her role and was very unfriendly.
We had called on that morning to request a late checkout at noon. She had told me that this was okay and that this would not be charged if the checkout was before noon. So, we ended the call and my husband and I went to explore the city.
It came as a vetted rude shock, when upon checkout, she told us that we needed to pay 250 Kronos. I mentioned that we had spoken on the phone and what she had told me. She said that I had hung up the phone before she was done speaking. I insisted that I had not— that she had ended the call on her end. Throughout this entire conversation, she was very cold and insistent. Note that we checked out well before noon- at around 11:50 AM.
Thankfully, her colleague intervened. She asked me if I had provided a reason for the request to extend the check out time. I said no, because her colleague had not asked me to. Also, I was not informed that it was a full house at the hotel. She claimed that she had called our room and had come upstairs to look for us. Hello! We had been told that we were allowed until noon to check out, so we went exploring around the town.
I was not charged extra, thanks to this colleague and her excellent intervention skills. As for her colleague, perhaps she thought that I was a typical mild Asian who is unable to speak English and that I would simply give in to her. She should be better trained to provide more accurate information to guests instead of changing her story and lying about what she had said. Also, when I spoke with her, and when she answered the call, she greeted me with a “hi.” What kind of service is this? I have never stayed at a hotel where the front desk staff member answers by saying “hi.” Very unprofessional!!!
The only reason why I am giving this hotel three stars instead of two or one stars is because of her colleague’s intervention and the friendliness of the other front desk staff when we checked in. Also, the maintenance man came to our room very quickly and helped us to resolve an issue we had with our bathroom sink.
This lady staff member should be reprimanded. Bad service and a bad representation...
