I've gone to baby swim with my small child over 10 weeks and although the instructor was great (the only reason for the two stars instead of one), the facilities are not, especially not for babies. First off, the facilities are very worn. the metal is rusting underneath the paint, floors are dirty and there is only one bathroom in the ladies' changing room. The layout is also not optimal, the changing rooms are on a different level than the swimming pools and although there's an elevator, the stairs look hazardous as you would walk down them while wet from showering. At least in the women's changing rooms, there's a rule of locking your shoes in your locker with clear signs. This is however not enforced, so you always have to wade through shoes to get to the lockers. They do provide car seat like carriers for babies and strollers for small children, which is good and absolutely necessary as the process of getting ready requires a lot of putting the child down in different places where there's no space to do so. There are changing mats for babies, but no sink in the area for washing hands etc. There are allso poor washing facilities for babies - only 2 plastic tubs in the showers. My baby swim group was of 8 babies plus other guests. After the shower, there's no good place to put on your baby the mandated swim pants as there's no place to lie him/her down in the showers. There is a small cubby down by the pools with space for two babies, but only large enough for one parent. So the visit is always a logistical nightmare, much worse than other aquatic centres I've visited with and without my baby. To top it all off, a male guest today came into the ladies' changing room with his children. He walked around a bit before leaving while women inside were in various states of undress. Overall, the experience has been good while in the pool with the instructor, but everything else has been a real hassle every single time we've been. Needless to say, we won't continue babyswimming here, but at another centre with much...
Read moreThis is my favourite exercise pool in Copenhagen, and I enjoy exercising here. The staff are quite friendly, the exercise pool temperature is nice, and there are plenty of spaces for children to go. On the other hand, I do wish the staff would be a bit more strict about preventing people from goofing around in the exercise lanes in the round pool, and that the changing rooms were a bit cleaner, given the sometimes overwhelming amount of small children and dirty diapers. I also wish the people exercising in the round pool would show a bit more courtesy. For instance, I don't know that friends exercising together need to swim shoulder to shoulder, especially when they are slow swimmers, as this blocks the lanes for everyone else. I also don't think anyone needs to swim immediately above the black lane marker unless they are visually impaired, again, blocking the lanes for other swimmers. It is a shared space and a modicum of courtesy goes a very long way. The pool and staff get an A-, but the users of the pool get a flat C (there are plenty of kind people, just a bit too much...
Read moreThe changing rooms were too crowded and noisy to be a relaxing experience before sauna gus. There were kids free peeing in the locker area and running amok. The gus was also ok, but the gus master's playlist was not interesting enough. Also, the sessions were 10 min, not 15. Maybe he could incorporate more drumming, uplifting hertz tunes, or possibly even techno. The offer of honey scrub from his beehive was a nice gesture. There was a nice selection of cucumber water and fruit between sessions. And ice buckets, which only 2 of us took advantage of. It just felt less like a relaxing experience and more commercialized. Also, with handymen and curious passersbyers who can look in on us through the tree trunks. Also, all the swimmers inside can and many did watch us de- steam. This is not private or comfortable enough considering that many other gus places offer a better overall experience for the same or less money. This is 100% more attractive place for parents and family members. My personal recommendation is to go to gus at an actual...
