I tried the hummus bowl at Gaza Grill in Copenhagen and it was a truly exceptional experience. The restaurant itself had a cozy and inviting atmosphere with beautiful decor, and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The hummus bowl was presented beautifully, with a generous portion of creamy hummus served in a deep bowl with warm pita bread on the side. The hummus was perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of garlic and lemon, and the addition of chickpeas, olives, and fresh herbs made for a perfect balance of flavors and textures. The quality of the ingredients used in the hummus bowl was outstanding. It was clear that the chefs take great care in selecting the freshest and highest quality ingredients, and this attention to detail really shone through in the taste of the dish. In addition to the hummus bowl, the menu at Gaza Grill featured a wide variety of Middle Eastern dishes, including falafel, shawarma, and kebabs. The vegetarian and vegan options were plentiful and clearly marked on the menu, which I appreciated. Overall, I highly recommend Gaza Grill to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic Middle Eastern meal in Copenhagen. The hummus bowl was a standout dish, but everything on the menu looked and tasted amazing. The quality of the food, friendly service, and inviting atmosphere make for a truly exceptional dining experience.

there are no words to describe this place, i can only summarise it as a culinary dream and a foodie’s heaven! we booked 24 hours in advance (highly recommend to book) as it was full when we tried to walk in, and we can now see why! the vibe of the place was instantly warm and welcoming, very hygge if you will, filled with bubbling chatter and atmospheric decór. our server was so lovely and polite, very patient as we were overwhelmed with all of the delicious choices! we eventually settled on a mixture of the mezze dishes, and my word. they all tasted out of this world!! the flavours, the textures, the presentation…flawless! most of the menu was vegan, as they actually promote their own carbon neutral footprint using sustainable energy and locally sourced ingredients! if you’re in copenhagen, this is the #1 place you have to visit!

It was the first restaurant we tried in Copenhagen and what an experience! As soon you enter, you are greeted by the warmth and feel directly at home. You can smell the delicious flavors coming from the kitchen, a preview of the upcoming meal. We took two main dishes with two sides and it was really filling: two beef plates, the falafel and a sort of sambusa with halloumi. While we were enjoying our meal, we fell in love with the plates we were served in. We asked the waiter about it and he told us they are selling it in the back. We followed in to a treasure room where we bought souvenirs for family and two perfect plates/bowls. The service was really helpful, kind and caring. We had a great evening and we can only recommend it! It was 10 min away from the center and the train station.

The Best of Israeli Cuisine – A Culinary Journey Through Flavor and Tradition

If you’re searching for a cuisine that beautifully blends Middle Eastern spices, Mediterranean freshness, and Jewish culinary heritage, Israeli food is a treasure you shouldn’t miss. From the first bite, it’s clear: Israeli cuisine is not just a meal — it’s an experience.

Highlights: • Hummus & Falafel: Creamy, rich, and made fresh daily. When topped with olive oil, warm chickpeas, and parsley, it’s pure perfection. The falafel? Crispy outside, tender inside — and never greasy. • Shakshuka: A showstopper! Poached eggs in a spicy tomato and pepper sauce, often served in a sizzling pan with fluffy challah or pita on the side. Comfort food at its best. • Sabich & Shawarma: Street food elevated. The sabich (fried eggplant, hard-boiled egg, amba, and salad in pita) is bold and addictive. Shawarma, especially when carved fresh off the spit, is juicy and full of flavor. • Fresh Salads: Israeli salad — a simple mix of cucumbers, tomatoes, lemon juice, and herbs — is always crisp and refreshing. Add tahini or labneh and it becomes a dream side dish. • Desserts: Don’t leave without tasting malabi (a rosewater milk pudding) or knafeh (a sweet cheese pastry soaked in syrup). Sweet, but not overpowering.

What Makes It Special? Israeli cuisine is about sharing — big platters, small plates, generous portions. The blend of cultures (Ashkenazi, Sephardi, Mizrahi, Druze, Arab, and more) creates something vibrant and unique. Every bite tells a story of history, family, and migration.

Final Verdict: If you’re a lover of bold flavors, fresh herbs, warm spices, and hearty meals — Israeli cuisine will capture your heart and palate. Whether in a bustling Tel Aviv eatery or a cozy kitchen, it’s one of the most exciting and satisfying culinary experiences...
