Hygge! Frida's is fantastic, delicious traditional food, comforting ambiance, very welcoming and attentive staff. Søren, and the head waiter, and even the chef, personally made us feel at home, as if we were visiting a friend's house. We ate there 2x in one week. We had the fish (delicious) the fried pork (traditional, and delicious potatoes with parsley sauce), and the wiener schnitzel - perfectly done, and of course beer on tap! I called last minute for a dinner spot for 4 (with 2 little kids), Søren advised that we could split any dish in 1/2 for our girls, and the chef came out to ask us if the girls would want the extra stuff on top of the schnitzel - actually they wouldn't eat it, so thank you for checking first :) Now my little girls love the gravy that was given with the schnitzel. And we felt very cared for with yummy home-style food in our bellies. A few days later called again for same day reservation - Søren remembered my voice! And yes of course, he would have a table for us (so kind!). The food was consistently delicious again, the service and attention top notch, food came out fast and we did not feel rushed. Eating at the Harbor can be fun to watch tourists walk by, but eating at Frida's is Hyggelit - we will definitely be back!...
Read moreWe were staying in a hotel on Versterbro, this restaurant was really close and had real danish food i wanted to try. It was lovely. Really nice relaxed atmosphere, menu in english, helpful staff. I had the herring on rye bread with capers for starter and it was wonderful, more than it sounds. For main meal i had the fried veal liver with bacon and mushrooms, again very nice, only a bit too much oil for me, i don't often eat fried food. But it tasted good. My husband had pork medalions with little sausages in a creamy sauce, with rice, i had a bit and it was great as well. We didn't try any desserts, we were so full. For drinks we both had a beer, i had small dark beer that was nice. I was really happy i got to eat some traditional danish food while visiting Denmark and i would reccommend it. We paid around 680 kroners, which is not too bad for Copenhagen. Food is really...
Read moreNOT KID FRIENDLY. Before being seated, the hostess said we don't have a kid's menu and we could tell she didn't want to seat us (older woman with a scowl). After sitting, our infant cried but was situated after drinking a bottle. The hostess returned and said that our children were tired and we should eat elsewhere.
Nasty personality. Menu choices were also limited. So we left. We went to an Italian restaurant a block away. Much better food choices and service was great (and kid friendly). I guess our kids were not too tired for good food.
Bad decision to go to Fridas in hindsight. We wanted good Danish. Our friends in Copenhagen wished we had asked them for restaurant choices as they have told us to avoid this inauthentic...
