The building on the outside is impressive. When you walk in, there's a small reception area and we were able to communicate with the receptionist in English. We got the room for 2 people (room #8 if you look on their website). It had a small changing area, hooks and a bench for the belongings, a sink and a toilet. The pool with hot sulfur water was separated from this area with a glass door. The area was clean and tidy. The pool itself was also clean and the water was very hot. The massage and scrub people came in the beginning, they knocked, and we were able to ask them to come a bit later, as we wanted to properly soak up first. When they came for the second time - a lady masseuse came and gave me a scrub & massage. Her English was a bit limited, but she was able to express what she needed me to do (sit, turn around, etc.). A male masseur came to give a scrub & massage to my husband. He spoke good English, so no issues there. Both my husband and I enjoyed it. The shower had good pressure and both hot and cold water.
A few tips: If you want to save money - bring your own towel, soap and slippers/something to wear in the wet environment. (You can rent/buy it all there, but for an additional price) If you want a massage, but are shy, bring your bathing suit. The scrub & massage is for relaxation. Don't expect deep tissue massage or anything like that. It's nice and relaxing and definitely worth 20 GEL. Also, my skin has been literally shining and it is so soft. I would recommend it, for sure. Listen to your body when you are in the pool. If it's too hot, go out for a few minutes to cool down. You can book online, but they seem to also accept walk-ins if they have available rooms (we just walked in and it was fine, but we are here out of the season, so if you are coming during the season, I'd book if...
Read moreCame here with my family on June 11 and booked King Room (the most expensive one) as everything else was reserved. Inquired about massage, and was told that they could arrange for a masseuse, but only for one hour, as we came in quite late (9:40pm) and she was only available starting at 10:50pm. So we booked the room for two hours with a view to getting a massage. An hour into our booking, we were told that the masseuse was now available for 30min instead of hour. 1hour 30min into our booking, we were told that the time was up, even though we still had 30 more min to go. After we disputed the claim, the staff became confrontational; they insisted that we arrived at 9:05 pm and therefore the time had expired. Not until we presented them with an electronic taxi receipt that recorded our time of arrival at the Baths and an Apple pay payment confirmation for the room did they decide to look into the issue. It turned out that the time they had set up on the computer that generated THEIR receipts was wrong (it was running 35 minutes behind), which makes me believe that everyone who’s been to the Baths on June 11th ( and possibly before that date) must have been shortchanged. Orbeliani Baths admitted that they asked us to leave the Baths too soon, but refused to refund the money. They offered a room free of charge for the following day, which didn’t work for our schedule. Upon learning that, they were still unwilling to refund the money for the second hour. Orbeliani Baths wants to charge tourist prices, but doesnt want to deliver. We initiated a Charge Back with our Bank, so, in the end, Orbeliani got a bad review...
Read moreGood overall experience The bath is clean, the service is good, the receptionist speaks good English, it is a bit more expensive but it is worth it. The small 1 person room costs about 50 Lari, you can rent towels, soap, etc. for an extra amount. The room is clean, contains a sitting area, a hot pool, a tiled bed that you can lie down on and get a scrub message on, a cold shower, and a bathroom. Notes: You might not find a booking so it is better to make a reservation a day or two earlier You might face shortness of breath in the Sulphur bath, if so I think it is best to leave immediately before having any complications The person offering the scrub/message will come in the room without permission and they do not speak English at all, they will not give you a chance to get clothed and because they do not understand English you will not be able to explain to them that you are not ok with getting a massage naked, so if you have issues with that you should pass on the message or try to explain this in details to the receptionist...
