Staying here for 2 nights. Unfortunately when the time we stay here, it was raining. And really found tired to walk from the ryokan to JR Kyoto station esp with small kid. Nothing to explore at night the surrounding here. Very quiet and little bit dark but do feel safe walking in out around. |There is a family mart (forget is it call family Mart) nearby. That is once out ryokan, turn left and walk straight to the end and cross the road (traffic light) to opposite right side. |Coin laundry shop was also at end turn left , yellow color shop. |Opp the coin laundry was a capsule hotel or Inn. Cannot see the exact name from opp as raining n dark.|The room was not really big but still ok coz I think the hotel or guesthouse here all are mostly smaller side. But the bathroom was really too small. We book Japanese style triple room which have own bathroom. Just taken 1 pic only as a bit too tired after long walk with few heavy luggage. Need remember bring rain coat just in case for self walking traveler. But easy to buy one or umbrella at shop like family mart which around 500yen plus plus. Used taxi service to check in time and it costed 1000yen from Kyoto station to the Ryokan. We met an old uncle taxi driver and he was very friendly and nice. Just unable communicate as we don't speak Japanese and he don't understand any English at all. A must to learn simple Japanese words...
Read moreThis time I chose a ryokan because I wanted to relax in a spacious room. There's a Lawson nearby, so I didn't have any trouble shopping. Ice cream, juice, candy, and instant foods were sold at reasonable prices at the inn.Water, tea, coffee, and hot water are all located on the first floor, and the microwave is also located there. Please note that the bathrooms and toilets are shared. The room is simple with a refrigerator, humidifier, hair dryer and extension tap TV.The entrance is three flights of stairs down from the street, so if you have a heavy suitcase, you have to carry it down the stairs. The service and consideration made up for this inconvenience, and the splendor of the scenery was more than worth the price. Non-public areas of Nishi Honganji Temple can be seen from the rooftop terrace. Closed during bad weather for safety reasons.I had a very...
Read moreThe location is good, 10 minutes walk from Kyoto Station, opposite the hotel is Nishi Honganji Temple. The hotel is not big, but very elegant. We booked a tatami room with a bathroom. The room is quite large, and there is room for 3 mattresses. The toilet is very small, only one person can go in and out.Usually when we come back, we will use the shower in the room alone, and use the public bathroom downstairs. Speaking of public bathing, I have been using it alone for a few days when I was there. There is also a large bathing pool with circulating water. It is very refreshing to stroll around for a day.The hotel has free coffee, ice water, there is a convenience store nearby, and the wifi speed is also stable. Good value for money...
