There is a female staff from China who was working in tax free reception, she was extremely rude to customers who speak Chinese (including customers from hong kong and Taiwan). We was in Muji Ginza on 23rd November around 3pm and was ready to pay at tax free desk, when she saw our passport, she didn't say any single word to greet us, not even hi. She didn't take any items from our busket so we had to take everything out from busket ourselves. She made a mistake when she was trying to pack the clothes as if spending on cosmetics over $5000, the clothes don't have to pack and seal together with cosmetics. She ended up re-pack everything again. Also when she took our money, I was talking to my friend about the coins, she said to us very impatiently "Am I not helping you to check your coins? " she said that to us for two times loudly. That's so ridiculous, we didn't even ask for her help to check our coins. She didn't even say any single words about thank you after payment. I think she thought she's still in china, so she was using her standard chinese service attitude. I think her name is マ. She was working on the 23rd of November around 3pm in tax free desk. I just can't believe this kind of rude service would happen in typical Japanese company Muji....
Read moremy first experience at muji hotel ginza. Booking of hotel is done via the official website, and it’s great that standard pricing is used for the hotel despite seasons. The location is good to find, just 3 min walking distance from subway. Hotel is on the 6f and the 5 floors below are shopping and dining complex. Check in was smooth and I got free souvenirs for the hotel’s new opening. my room is very “muji”, everything is from muji, from the bed to the slippers. The small items can be taken home, such as toothbrush, comb, slippers etc, there’s a detailed list for guidance. The bed is very comfortable, and the room got you free diffuser with oil of your choice, very caring. The only thing is that I stay at type A room and it’s really very compact. Bigger rooms would be better.
Went for dining at the Muji Diner, to be honest food is fresh but quality soso, when it is served it is a bit cold already. It’s more like a “muji” experience than a quality dining experience.
Added extra for the breakfast buffet at muji hotel. It is buffet style japanese x western style breakfast. Quality and variety of food are both great, and again the utensils are from muji.
Would visit again for the...
Read moreFirst off, the store is beautiful and has pretty much everything you’d need. But the staff were surprisingly rude. Nothing happened to me personally, but I saw two different customers get treated pretty rudely within just a few minutes.
One woman politely asked a staff member about a specific product, and the staff just yelled “SOLD OUT!” and walked off without even looking at her. I was honestly shocked - such bad customer service (especially in Japan!).
A few minutes later, we were in line for the tax-free checkout. The person ahead of us didn’t realize the cashier was calling him at first, but once he did and walked over, the cashier looked super annoyed and didn’t even greet him. She asked him a question, but he didn’t catch it the first time, and when she repeated it, she looked very impatient and irritated.
I was shocked again. The staff at the Uniqlo flagship store next door were so much friendlier and more upbeat. I get that people have bad days, or maybe the tourist crowd is overwhelming, but seeing two separate customers treated like that by two different staff in just a few minutes… that probably...
