Hotel 7 Suria — Attraction in Borneo

Location: 5/5 - Right on top of Suria Sabah Shopping Mall, so convenient, with GSC cinema one floor up, Jesselton for island hopping 8 minutes away. Proper place to get Grab for e-hailing. Generally the area is safe. There's plenty of parking for guests. The only thing is the breakfast place directions can be made clearer AND BIGGER as it is outside the hotel/lobby area. The signs are small, and I needed to walk around the whole car park to find it. Price 3/5 - for solo, 4/5 for two people. Room and comfort 4/5: A bit old but complete with utilities. It was clean and comfortable. The 1/2 sea view is accurate, and hindered by the bars across the windows probably made for security. My room was near the lift so i could hear it open and close and people passing with their luggage. TV & Internet 1/5: Internet was slow and inconsistent and when I asked for assistance, i was told to reset it myself with no assistance. TV local boring channels and you need to pay extra for Netflix/ Prime. Youtube worked intermittently due to the poor wi-fi connection. Service 4/5: Polite front desk staff. Breakfast 5/5: Hearty breakfast, beef rendang, curry chicken, few kinds of rice/ porridge/ noodles/potatoes/ hash browns, many kinds of eggs, assortment of cordials , teas and coffees, coconut pudding, pao. We had a very bad experienced in your hotel. Frontdesk was not really cooperative and they have nothing to say but only “sorry sir” i heard this so many times and it was kinda ear-aching scenario… during our first night shower heater wasn’t working and there was a leakage which so distracting while you’re taking a bath. We arrived in KK midnight so we were so exhausted and we opted not to bother your staff. When we woke up we immediately informed them. Heater was fixed but leakage wasn’t. Then my friend informed them about the wifi, they said IT would fix it but nothing has changed. Internet was very slow and we can’t barely use it. our mobile data didn’t work in our room too. So we can’t work and update our social media once we got back in your hotel. What made us more disappointed was we kept on asking them if possible to move to another room which has better internet connection and we’re willing to pay if really need to upgrade. After that they said just “sorry Sir our rooms were all occupied, if you want we can move you tom” :(.. again ? How many tomorrows you have? It’s gonna be our last day tom. What’s the point right. Most of the review of this hotel is positive especially the location, therefore we booked for 2 night.The room is clean and seem all good when we got the room number 633. Horrible thing happened when we woke up the next day morning. Both of us are bitten by something as our body is so itchy. We thought it’s just mosquito and didn’t care too much about it. In the evening, the itchiness from bad to worst, then we know something not right. We suspected it’s bed bug instead. We decided to inform the front desk request for room change. It took some time and we able to move to room 624. All seem right but both of us scratching the legs and arm the all night long. I don’t see any bed bug or insect on the bug but when I shift the bed, I found beg bugs on the carpet.Doctor has confirmed that it’s bed bugs and told us that they are no medication for this. Only gave some cream for the itchiness. I had spent SGD 46.45 for medication and it last for more than 8 days the itchiness.Overall, it’s a horrible experience and pray for NOT any bed bugs had bring...
