This restaurant, located on the 3rd floor of Suria Sabah, is a highly recommended spot often mentioned on platforms like XHS, known for its fresh fish dishes. I was a bit surprised when I arrived, as the dining area resembled a food court with shared tables. However, the setup is unique—you can only order food from the specific stall in front of you, even though the space is open and other stalls selling items like hotpots and dim sum are within view. It felt slightly restrictive, but we decided to focus on their signature offerings. We ordered their famous Tomato Soup with Mixed Fish, priced at RM13.50 for a regular portion. The soup was exceptional—rich, tangy, and incredibly aromatic. It was served piping hot, which made it even more comforting. The noodles absorbed the flavorful broth perfectly, making every bite enjoyable. However, because I chose the mixed fish option, it included various fish parts with bones, which made eating a bit tricky. For those who prefer a fuss-free experience, I’d recommend opting for the version with fish slices instead. We also tried their Fried Meehoon with Fish Slices, priced at RM25. While it was more expensive, the dish was delicious. The meehoon was well-fried, with a smoky “wok hei” flavor, and the fish slices were tender and boneless, making it easier to eat compared to the mixed fish in the soup. Additionally, we ordered a platter of fried snacks (Combo Mix), priced at RM16, which included fried wontons, tofu balls, crispy bean curd, and seafood tofu. While everything was tasty, this platter isn’t something I’d say you must try unless you’re looking to add variety to your meal. The portions were generous, and I found the regular size for the noodle soup to be more than enough. If you have a larger appetite, they also offer a large size. The service was friendly, and the overall cleanliness of the place was impressive. However, the seating arrangement can be slightly inconvenient, especially if you’re dining with friends who might want to order from other stalls nearby—you’re limited to ordering from this specific stall once you sit in their area. Despite this minor issue, I’d say this place is worth visiting, especially for the Tomato Soup, which truly lives up...
Read moreWas craving for tom yam so visited this shop because it's nearby. However the soup is disappointingly too salty, noodle sauce taste weird, quality dropped a lot comparing to before. Also, my friend didnt wanna eat their food so asked the waiter that was taking order whether outside food is allowed, staff said yes. Asked TWICE just to make sure. Afterwards while friend was eating take out, one of the waitress came and tell us outside food is not allowed (but we asked before) then both the waiter and the waitress came to apologise for the misinformation. Then because friend was eating pork, (sorry, but we didnt see halal stamp at the shop so didnt think that pork might be forbidden at the shop), one old woman which is also a staff there, smelled the pork, came and rudely confronted my friend that was half way eating, shouted and kinda humiliated my friend by taking away the spoon she was holding. Friend apologised for using their spoon to eat during the time because she was trying out my tom yam soup and forgotten to change it to the take away spoon, even proposed to buy the spoon that was used (mind u, we asked a staff beforehand whether outside food is allowed and he initally said yes), but this old lady said the staff doesn't know, and we should've asked other staff! Excuse me? So it's our fault that you're not informing all your staffs regarding your shop policies? It's the customer fault for not asking the right staff? How are customers suppose to know which staff to ask then? This old lady took away the spoon my friend was using and instantly throw it away, that action is so rude as my friend was half way eating, ended up friend throwing away the takeout instead. Boycotting this shop, worst and rude old lady staff. Never returning to this shop anymore. Hope more people see how rude this old woman is and not returning...
