Felipe V wanted a piece of Paris, so he ordered to make a garden which reminds it. In this garden we have the most oldest trees in Madrid. Ahuehuete has a heigh of 25 meters a 6 meters of circunference and chandelier shape. The tree is originarian from mexico in Nahualte the Azteca languange means water oldman because they are really longlasting trees and love to live near the water ., and waterways This tree is protected by the comunity as a singular tree The legend tells that this beautiful tree is son of the one where Hernan Cortes was crying the sad night , ( 1th july 1520 ) when the spanish troops were massacred by the Aztecas and they must to run away of Mexico city- To not forget that fatal date Hernan Cortes brough some seed or cutting of this tree we are not sure to reproduce it , and the result you can see it.

Its oficial plantation dates...

In the western portion of El Retiro Park is the Parterre garden. It is a beautiful and calm spot within Madrid‘s most popular urban park. The Partere Garden is a large garden and you will find many people wondering around as well as relaxing and enjoying its beautiful views and calm surroundings. The garden has many colorful flowers large beds fountains and beautiful unique trees near by. I could honestly come back to this area of the park if in Madrid again and just spend more time here and relax but there is also lots of other beautiful spots and places to see...
