Luzern Bahnhofquai — Attraction in Lucerne

It was a very nice experience having a boat ride from here to Vitznau (a part of our journey to Mount Rigi). We had day saver passes, so wasn't needed to buy tickets separately. You could just get the QR code scanned from your phone and board wherever you want to go. I would say, if you have passes, or even otherwise, one should take this journey as a must to enjoy a very nice boating experience with very nice views.

The boat was very nice with a very nice closed eating place, especially in the cold weather we were there in ;-). The boat is spacious and if you are seated inside, it feels very relaxed in a plush place, with good views. It has few stops on the way to Vitznau and takes around an hour. The trip timings are available...

Be careful paying by card. They told me that the card wasn't accepted after correctly putting the PIN just because the machine didn't print a copy. I told the woman that the card was accepted and still she said I had to pay with cash because no copy were printed. After paying by cash and claiming and showing the successful retention. She told me that it will be compensated automatically.

This happened on March on a Sunday at noon.

Anyway claimed via email to the company lakelucerne.ch never got an answer.

Obviously this was a fraud. Pay by card. Didn't worked now by cash...and then they say that the only receipt is your printed fare. They should jail the responsible of this company. First time I was...

This is pretty much the main hub for all the Lake Lucerne cruises, and it's buzzing with a great, lively energy. Being right next to the train station, it's super convenient to get to.

Even if you're not hopping on a boat, it's worth coming here just for the view. You get a perfect, postcard-worthy shot of the city across the water, including the iconic twin spires of the Hofkirche. It's a fantastic spot for people-watching and seeing all the boats come and go.

It's the perfect starting point for your lake adventure, but also just a great place to sit by the water for a bit and soak in the classic Lucerne scenery. Don't forget to say hi...
