Night Food Market Kata Beach — Attraction in Karon

This night market was the first one that I visited during my first trip to Phuket and Thailand overall. The market had a good variety of authentic Thai food at fair prices. My friends and I had dinner from this market twice during our stay in Phuket.

On the first night, I had Papaya Salad (THB80) and Green Mango Salad (THB80) for dinner. These meals were fresh, savory, crunchy and crispy. However, they became intolerably spicy for me towards the end of the meal, because I made the mistake of choosing "little spice" instead of "no spice at all". Then, I had a Mixed Berry Shake (THB80). The taste was natural, fruity, and delightful. The serving was generous as well.

On the second night, my friends and I had Pineapple Fried Rice (THB120), Fried Chicken (THB100), Fried Squid (THB100), Squid Spring Rolls (THB100), Banana + Caramel Roti (THB50), and Banana + Peanut Butter + Chocolate Roti (THB70). All the meals were so tasty and satisfying.

There were still so many other dishes that I wanted to try, so I would definitely come back to this market on my next visit...

Honest local food at a decent price for Pukhet, considering it is generally quite more expensive than northern areas of Thailand such as Chiang Mai. I visited the market with friends 3 nights in a row for dinner and we tried many things which we liked (that’s why we kept going ;). The pad thai was exceptionally good and half price compared to the other pad thais I had for lunches at restaurants in the neighboring streets.

It’s mostly food, with a couple of souvenir stores. I definitely recommend visiting it and trying some of the octopus or the fish...
