My partner and I wanted open return tickets to Shoreham by Sea with the discount from our Senior Citizen Railcard and with deductions for the amount of routes covered by my partner's railcard. We were loathe to get these tickets from the machines in case we made a mistake. We arrived at the station around lunch time on Saturday.
We were going to Shoreham by Sea to celebrate my partner's birthday with his family and we were disappointed that the ticket office was really understaffed and therefore the queue was very long. We had just missed the previous train when we started to queue and by the time we got our tickets we had missed the next train too. We waited over half an hour to get our tickets.
I really think that the staffing of the ticket office on a Saturday should be sorted out. The service offered...

It should be a bargain £2, I was charged 17 pounds and told that I had to have a paper ticket to get her a cheap ticket. The guard on the train and the station ticket office where I usually buy them from say that there is no such rule. Another time I was overcharged and told that I had to buy my ticket at the same time...there is no such rule. I won't be using this office again....
