Where do I start?! This hotel was in a pretty good on the edge of buckhead location, but arriving and locating a parking spot was awful. The garage was open and scary. I was informed by the front desk clerk to park on level 2 or 3 and go through one of those doors. This door led to a stairway to get back outside in order to go through the hotel doors. Those stairs were nasty, unattended, and very easy way to get robbed. His directives were poorly verbalized likely because he seemed as if he didn't want to be there. He even had head phones on while I was checking in and speaking with him. The night staff were rude, unprofessional, and extremely lazy. Anytime you asked for anything, they claim it wasn’t available. One gentlemen on the Saturday night staff told me that he was just here, people are suppose to be sleep at this time of night. Who would say something like that.
Let’s talk about the day staff, the kitchen attendant was extremely rude and nonchalant. My breakfast was cold and I told her. She shrugged her shoulders as if oh well and did nothing to assist me. I don’t eat pork but they have no other meat options. Ever. Stayed there for 3 nights and it was the same cheap 1 level breakfast.
There are no weights in the gym. Only treads. That wasn’t too bad but gosh..
The hotel is horrendous outside while renovations have been pending for 2 years. The bar needs an alcohol permit so they are also closed.
The worst of it all, is the manager who is suppose to ensure comfort and sincerity. However, when expressing one of my concerns, he told me it was common sense to check in at the front desk which was clearly not the issue and the real issue went right over his head. He doesn't care what the staff does. He was a very mean spirited man who couldn’t care less about what we say. He said the breakfast was the hilton way. Wow! He just threw the Hilton brand straight down the drain. I bet it was intentional.
Lastly, ( i could go on and on. It was that bad but I’ll leave it here) the rooms were small, the renovations are subpar, the rooms were fairly clean but not the best. Loose hair all over the room that had to be shaken off. I wanted to leave so so bad. I felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome. However, i could not leave because my money would have been held up. Therefore, with tears in my eyes, we had to stay. I will absolutely never stay at this hotel again. I hope they educate, empower, and clean up this place with new employees who will do a good job serving the customers. The only person who gets a little respect from me is Adrian. He was somewhat knowledgeable, very responsive, and did his best to provide some good level of customer service but he work days and still cant change of my issues.
Yes, the price is good for this stay but honestly its overpriced as it should be on a days inn level. I am so serious. The breakfast is no good. Service is no good. Hotel room is ok but really only for one person coming in for a night with no sleep and high out of their mind. Otherwise, don’t come here. You will be very...
Read moreWe've been staying at various Hilton properties with kitchenettes for over ten years and our poor experience at Homewood Suites by Hilton Atlanta Buckhead Pharr Road had nothing to do with the renovations. (The renovations are very nice.) ||First, the rooms are tiny. (We had a King Bed "Deluxe" Efficiency Suite.) They are barely half the size of a normal Home2Suites room. They offer a lot of cubbies, but the four dresser drawers barely can hold one pack cube each. There's a dining table, but we found we needed that for all of our luggage and groceries, so we never had a place to sit and actually eat. And the showers had absolutely no shelves to put our toiletries. Also, the black out curtains do not extend far enough, so the rooms are flooded with early light, so if you're not an early riser--beware.||And lastly, the customer service was rude and unhelpful. The front desk attendant refused to allow us to have our digital key until we came inside the lobby. It was extremely cold out and we just wanted to go to our floor's door, get settled and then head out quickly again for a timed ticket to the garden lights, but she made us come inside and wait for her attention. Then she hassled us when we gave our her ID & CC, as she requested. We can understand security concerns and gave them to her, but we've never been asked for these before and she gave us such a hard time even though we complied. (On top of all that, she had just blown her nose into a tissue and then held our cards against that used tissue in her hand...)||Then she refused to give us our Gold level gift bag and food credit. But the man in front of us was also Gold and she happily offered him anything in the food pantry for free and two bags of bottled water. We asked, and she begrudgingly gave us one bag with water in it and ignored us about the food credit.||Then she told us we couldn't use the upper level entrance near our room, saying it didn't work. But if we had to come through the lobby, the elevator is down the hall and around the corner and it would have been a hassle to go in that way with all of our luggage. Instead we went upstairs where she said the door didn't work and observed people going in and out of it without issue(!) So thankfully we were able to use the more convenient door, but without her helping us know we had that option.||Lastly, the parking lot looked structurally unsafe (maybe they'll work on that) and the instructions to find them are inaccurate. You'll pass it a few times if you use apple.google maps, so be on the lookout for a VERY small sign and a quick turn off...
Read moreWe stayed at this hotel about a year ago. It was under renovations then and those renovations are still ongoing. They have done a great job updating the rooms and the lobby area. It is bright and welcoming with plenty of seating. It also has a nice little shop with some snacks, drinks, and personal items.
The breakfast area is much improved! Options range from muffins to sausage, hash browns, pork, and waffles. There is orange and apple juice, coffee, tea and milk. Yogurt, cereal, bread and bagels are also available. I was pleased with the options.
There is an indoor pool, cardio room (with a peloton and water refill station), and a weight room (that has the laundry area attached to it). Nice amenities to use. The weight room is smaller and does tend to get warm. It would be nice to see better ventilation in that room. I do appreciate that there are sanitary wipes in the cardio and weights area to clean equipment.
There is a parking garage that can be a little challenging to navigate. Maybe that will improve when the renovations are completed. They are also working on an outdoor space that should have a grilling area, fire pit, and seating tables.
On Wednesdays it looks like they have a "social" in the lobby where food is available for guests. I think it's an awesome gesture! We didn't get to enjoy it this time; but I took a picture of the flyer so you can see.
The rooms are nice. The AC/Heat system work very well. Nice to have a pullout couch and the TV that swivels between the couch area and the bed. There is a 2 burner stove, utensils, microwave, and good size fridge/freezer. Nice storage area on the way to the bathroom. Now, the bathroom is good but it's odd that there is no toilet paper holder. Also, the door was very close to the toilet which just made it odd to get in and out. The water pressure was fine.
Overall it's a good hotel and the renovations should make it even better. There are a few restaurants, coffee shops, and grocery store within...
