I would like to start with the disclaimer that I am a future resident and have not moved in yet. This review is solely based on the application process since everyone seems to have had different experiences.
I toured The Ashley on Tuesday after visiting 6+ complexes in search of a new place. I had initially started an application for another complex but came across photos of The Ashley and knew I had to check it out. My tour was at 10 AM, and Andeija was my leasing agent. She was very thorough yet efficient with her tour of the property, which I appreciated. She let me know what was available and noticed what I was interested in instead of dragging me through an entire site tour.
After finishing my tour, I was hesitant to apply because this complex is a lot different from where I currently live. Once I left, I received follow-up emails from Andeija and the property manager, April. I assume this was because I started an application and did not complete it. However, I appreciated the little nudge because I didn’t have much holding me back.
During the application process, I uploaded my driver’s license and linked my payroll from my current employer. I really like their third-party vendor because your background check, criminal history, credit, etc., are all checked during the application and before submission, so you already have an idea of what the manager will see, including your credit score. I completed my application at 4:19 PM, and April emailed me with an approval at 4:43 PM. She even beat the third party because I didn’t receive an email from them until 4:59 PM. Andeija, the leasing agent, emailed me at 5:00 PM with the welcome email outlining basic terms. We had a few exchanges confirming certain pieces of information, and then I had my official welcome letter the next morning.
They also send out a very detailed welcome letter outlining everything that needs to be done prior to your move-in day, including any balances due. They do not have any outrageous or hidden fees; the fees are pretty standard. I printed the move-in documents so that I could check off what I had completed, and I really appreciate the effort put into the packet.
The only reason I decided to do a review is because I read a few reviews of people having poor experiences with the application process. Those reviews actually made me hesitant to apply, but I like to see things for myself, which is why I did the tour. The application process was very smooth, and the staff, at least April and Andeija, were very fast. The only process I can vouch for is attaching proper identification and linking your payroll/bank accounts, because I’m sure that’s what expedited our process. If you feel that is too invasive, there are alternatives, but I can only imagine that would prolong your process. I have no knowledge of the process or experience when you have to manually upload statements. Other than that, the welcome packet is so thorough that I didn’t even feel the need to reach out to Andeija with additional questions.
I am glad I toured because this was the smoothest application process I’ve ever...
Read moreThe Ashley Gables Buckhead is hiding reviews to boost their ratings. I left a genuine review about my experience and they hid it from public view. I would not recommend this property or the management company. Since I moved here in 2022, the garage gates have not worked properly. The steel gate suddenly closed as I was exiting resident parking and The Ashley Gables withheld footage from insurance, lied about the incident, and stated that they aren’t liable for access control malfunction according to the lease. I was exiting at a normal pace when the gate suddenly closed and scratched my bumper. I was not speeding, nor did I rush the gate. The gate did not capture my sticker or sense that a vehicle was there. Therefore, it malfunctioned! You can ask any resident, they will confirm that the steel garage gates are never functioning. They even installed additional gates on Paces Ferry Rd. and on Maple Dr. and they hardly function! The Ashley Gables has scandalously used the lease to avoid liability. The entrance doors within the garage are often stuck open, leaving anyone access to the building. The elevators are often down, which is extremely inconvenient when living in a high-rise building. The fob device in the stairwells randomly stops working, causing me to get stuck in between floors when the elevators are down. Valet trash was inconsistent and unpredictable for over a year. The trash room is often filthy and chutes are often stuck. Some of the gym equipment doesn't work and it suddenly closed recently due to a mysterious leak. The grills have hardly worked since I've lived here. They “fixed” them recently and I can confirm, they still do not work properly. We have to do tricks and make props in order for it to turn on and stay on. There's always pet urine and feces left in the elevator. The coffee machine was down for months. The noise levels are ridiculous between units and at the pool, especially when there's always loud parties. They randomly started charging residents to use the EV chargers before notifying us that a fee was being...
Read moreI'll admit, I've had my fair share of ups and downs living here - but that is no different than any other rental experience I've encountered across the 6 states that I've lived in. That said, I think The Ashley is an excellent choice in an apartment complex in this area.
Pros: -The property is modern and well maintained -I've never felt unsafe -Maintenance is super responsive and kind -The apartments are beautiful (I have all hardwood and love that) -24 Hour concierge -Locker system for packages -Never had an issue with parking safety -Nest thermostat regulator -Quiet building -The staff are generally friendly and helpful - no issue has ever gone unresolved -Up the street from the police station -Rooftop and lounge areas on 6 floor are beautiful and well maintained -Super dog friendly (area for let out on 15th floor, dog washing station, bags for poo, etc.) -No lockout fees because of the concierge -Consistent security that monitors the property in the evening -Easy guest entry system with Butterfly -I know people don't prioritize walkability in Atlanta, but the location of this property makes everything walkable (grocery [TJ/Aldi/Whole Foods], dentist, doctor, mall, park, restaurants, gym, florist, nail salon, etc.)
Cons: -The garage doors don't always work -Your guests will absolutely get booted if you don't register them for parking -New fees for EV charging (not a big deal for me but this was def a nice perk previously) -I wish the windows opened up more in the apartments but it's not that big of a deal -Sometimes the elevators can be slow during peak hours but taking the stairs is a non-issue for me when I'm in a hurry
[Edited 3/20: Reduced to 4 stars as they created a significant barrier to easy and ACCESSIBLE recycling. This community is filled with Gen Z, Millennials, Gen X, and Boomers alike (many of whom have mobility issues) and the new "model" is simply lazy and greedy considering we are all still paying for trash pick-up. This is a huge flag when it comes to climate change as Gables has power to create positive change rather than detracting...
