I was running late for my appointment. I called and was told there was a 15-minute grace period. I made it within the grace period. Although everyone was polite, the whole process I felt rushed. I left with a lot of anxiety and lost about my treatment plan and my medication. I was a new patient and unaware of this practice way if doing things. I going through a bad flare-up of level 7 pain. The visit including check in and out probably took 20 minutes. I was so lost and rushed I actually didn't finish my check in process on that tablet until I checked out. I was then escorted out, because every thing was so fast I left my phone. I choose to use the practice pharmacy, because of the type of medication I need, but the amount of pain I was in the doctor nor the nurse advised anything for me to do for relief until the pharmacy calls me. The nurse wrote down a name of a cream and told me where to buy it at, but the soaps and my other regime that caused the flare up and after my visit I have no alternative stuff to use until my scripts arrive. I was so rushed out the door I actually left my phone. I didnât get no after plan paperwork when I checked out, there nothing recorded on the website about my visit for me to reference to regarding the treatment for each of my issues i presented. I actually typed up my list of problems the night before. The doctor nor the nurse barely looked at it. I am not saying the staff was rude because they were very nice, but the whole experience felt rushed. No time to explain things for me being a new patient. This was the worst experience I had going to a Dr. I am still in a lot of pain. My registration is still incomplete online. I was having issues with the website before my appointment. The nurse nor the Dr didnât even take the time to see that my registration was not complete and complete it. I told the nurse and dr I was in a lot of pain . I even asked the nurse did they have any samples I can use for relief until the pharmacy contacts me in a week. She said no and the expression on her face when I asked. She then wrote a cream down and told me were to buy it. I felt small. I am tearing up as I type this. Please make sure all my scripts are in. I am in pain, but I don't think I'll return to this practice. My name is Shaquanna Anderson. Once again I can't get back into this website to tell you what Dr I saw, am over it all. My DOB 8/10/75 if you want to look in your system. If all of this happened because I was late, then they should have told be...
Read moreI had a poor aftercare experience with this practice and would not recommend it. In early March, I met with Dr. Bellamy to have a cyst in my arm examined and removed. That initial experience went well, and I received stitches after my procedure. After the required two weeks, I returned to the office to have my stitches removed by a nurse. I had previously been informed that I would not see the doctor again at this visit, and I assumed it would be fine since it was simply for stitch removal.
However, once the nurse removed the stitches, I noticed that the wound was still open. The nurse placed only a small band-aid over the wound, which did not fully cover the wound area. The only aftercare instructions provided were to apply petroleum jelly and avoid physical exercise for an additional week. No follow up appointment was recommended. By the time I returned home, the small bandage had already fallen off because the wound was open, and was bleeding/leaking fluid. Due to the lack of detail in the care instructions, I had to research how to properly dress and care for the open wound myself. Since the office was closed for the day, I also reached out to an urgent care describing my situation and they recommended following up with the office.
I reached out to Dr. Bellamy through the patient portal requesting further assistance and care instructions (as of writing this review, I have never received a response). Since it was the weekend, two days later I called the office and spoke with a nurse who shared the photo I provided with another doctor (whose name was not disclosed). According to the nurse, this doctor prescribed a antibiotic ointment and advised me to keep the wound bandaged for a month with the antibiotic and petroleum jelly â information and supplies (aside petroleum jelly) from that were never communicated or given to me during my stitch removal appointment and would not have been communicated if I had not asked.
The follow-up care and communication regarding proper wound care after my stitches were removed and it was obvious the wound had reopened were severely lacking. If quality aftercare and clear patient communication are priorities for you, I cannot recommend this practice and I regret getting my...
Read moreI am sure this is a one-off scenario but I waited around 40 minutes for my appointment to start. I had to check with someone outside if it was going to take longer. This was a workday so I didnât love the wait. I would have been fine with the wait if I could have discussed more than 1 concern, out of a number of concerns I had. I didnât expect to discuss all of my concerns in one meeting but I did expect that I would at least get 20-30 minutes of the doctorâs time to discuss at least a couple of concerns after waiting for 40 minutes. Overall the visit seemed a bit rushed and likely lasted barely 10 minutes. The doctor was great to talk overall so no complaints about that but I wouldâve appreciated a more thorough meeting especially since I went in as a new patient. Also I spent money on Uber to get there so considering that, I did not like how extremely short the appointment was. Usually for the first meeting, most places offer a thorough consultation to establish history. Maybe dermatology is different in that respect. I havenât been to a dermatologist in years so I could be off on how it works for this area of healthcare. The parking isnât validated either and while the parking rates arenât crazy i.e. youâd pay just $3-$5 for 0-60 minutes which is reasonable, this is probably the first clinic I have been to where you have to pay for the parking. I am not entirely sure about my experience yet. But I went in expecting something that would match the 4 and 5 star reviews I see here and I canât say that it came anywhere close to that. But like I said, it could be a one off situation. Itâs possible that today was especially busy. Lots of maybes! All I know is that the fee is going to be the same regardless. What I liked: their almost daily reminders are super helpful if you have a busy life. Definitely worked great for me. I have follow up appointments scheduled because I want to give it another shot before looking elsewhere. If the second time happens to be better, I might consider changing my review. For now I am going go by todayâs experience. Not that one lukewarm review is going to matter that...
