I was supposed to have my wedding in a hotel in Boston in March 2020. Due to COVID-19, it was cancelled. I postponed it to August 2020, but then in July the hotel cancelled since they were not open yet. I was devastated. I did not want to postpone again. So I decided I would find another venue/change plans. Luckily, my planner had another bride who was in a similar situation as me and had changed her plans to have it on a yacht. When my planner recommended this to me, I thought ehhhhh. After a few days of pondering, I decided to check out the website she had forwarded to me in case I was interested. Everything seemed really nice online. My next step was to call the company, Hornblower. I spoke with Meghan Simmons who was such a delight. She gave me all the information I needed and said they could absolutely accommodate us on our August date. It seemed like a dream after months of worry, frustration and anxiety. We setup a time to see the yacht in person and boy were we amazed! What a beauty. My husband and I knew this was it as soon as we stepped foot on it! We literally planned our entire wedding all over again in 3-4 weeks. It was a bit overwhelming, but Meghan was so great to work with. She truly made the process so easy and smooth for us. She answered all of our million questions and worked with our vendors to make sure everyone was on the same page.
The day of our wedding was BEYOND PERFECT! The scenery on the water for our ceremony backdrop was absolutely gorgeous. Everyone was in complete awe. The staff on the yacht were unbelievably professional and on top of all the details. They ensured that we stayed on time with our schedule and everything went as planned without a single hitch. The yacht is absolutely gorgeous and spacious. And let me tell you about the food. Beyond our expectations! ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! Our guests went for seconds and raved for days about how yummy everything was!
My husband and I are so grateful to Meghan and all the Hornblower staff who helped make our day so special and memorable. In hindsight, despite all the stress we experienced with the COVID-19 cancellations, we now believe that this was meant to be. We cannot wait to be out in the water with them again in the future. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking to host their wedding or other...
Read more9/15/19. Went on a starlight dinner cruise aboard the Spirit Cruises ODYSSEY, at Rowes Warf in Boston harbor. What a fantastic time. Dinner was awesome. The 3 course dinner started with nice caesar salad. My wife had a main course of Braised Beef Short Rib. It was cooked to perfection, so tender, you could cut it with your fork. The dish came with Idaho potato / horseradish mash, Baby carrots, Pearl onions & peas, Cabernet sauvignon sauce. I delved into the Maple & Mustard Glazed Chicken Breast. Very tasty. Dish came with Fingerling Potatoes & Chives, Haricot Verts (I will call them mini green beans), Dijon Mustard Cream Sauce. Dessert was called the " Odyssey Signature Dessert Station" which consisted of Mini pastry cups, cakes, Pastries, Seasonal Fruit. All in All, food was great.
After eating, we ventured to the top deck for a nice view of the lights of the city. Beautiful view. We met 2 other couples, and what a blast we had. Laughed, talked, laughed some more. Crew was awesome. I would recommend going, and we plan on returning. I am a member of a few travel sites, and I used the 50% off offer off one of them for our cruise tickets.
Parking was very easy and is located right below the Boston Harbor Hotel. You walk out of the Hotel exit, and the ship is right there. There is parking apps you should use to prepay. Make sure you have a smart phone as there is a barcode reader at the parking entrance, and scan your prepaid ticket.
If you get a chance, go on a dinner cruise, it is well worth it. ...
Read moreWent on the Friday Night Boathouse cruise, highly recommend!! Spirit of Boston is newly renovated and is an awesome time. They have Friday Night Boathouse cruises for approx. $30.00 per person they set sail at 4, 6 & 8 pm for and hour long harbor cruise, if you get there at 3, you have access on & off the boat until they sail at 4 and when you return at 5, you can stay on the boat and sail for the other two cruises (all for one price)!
On board we went to the second floor. Tables have vintage games such as Jenga, simon, uno & a bag toss (corn hole) game which they encourage you to play. At the outside bar on the second level, they had a live guitar player, a huge Jenga game and a photo booth, (have your photo taken for free!) There is also a dance floor on the main deck with a DJ. with dancing.
We had some appetizers, they were delicious but the portions are small and very pricey if you are paying for them, (Ours were free as we won the boat cruise from a local radio station and they bought several of the appetizers for us). Domestic beer is around $6.00
The cruise was beautiful we went on the 6:00pm cruise they sailed just past Castle Island then returned, the city during the day from the water is beautiful, and watching the planes come in and take off from Logan is awesome.
We stayed on for the 8 pm cruise, which was very nice, the city at nighttime is a site to behold. Nice way to spend a Fairly reasonable...
