Happy's Watersports — Attraction in Destin

We booked an 8-hour pontoon rental with this company over the weekend, and unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish.

First, we were surprised by an unexpected $10 per car charge just to park in their lot. During check-in, the staff was unfriendly, unhelpful, and gave us the impression that our business wasn’t welcome. Although we were told we would receive a quick safety course on operating the pontoon, this was skipped after one person in our group mentioned they had prior experience.

On the water, we had a great time at Crab Island. The problems began when we returned. The docking process was chaotic, with several employees shouting conflicting instructions at once. This confusion caused one member of our group, who was operating the boat, to panic and accidentally accelerate instead of shifting into neutral. Our boat lightly bumped another pontoon that was already docked. The impact did not appear severe, and certainly not enough to cause major damage.

However, the manager (or owner) immediately confronted us in a very rude and aggressive manner, claiming we had “broken a fuel line” on the other boat. Without providing any real proof or explanation, we were charged $1,070 on the spot. Feeling pressured and intimidated, we paid and left.

The following day, I attempted to follow up to speak with someone in charge, but I was told the manager was “too busy” and that I would receive a call back. Days later, no one has reached out, confirming the lack of professionalism and poor customer service we experienced from the very beginning.

I truly regret not reading more of the negative reviews before booking. Our group of eight all agreed this company mishandled the situation and showed no regard for customer fairness or satisfaction. We will all be leaving reviews so that future customers are better informed.

There are many other rental companies in the area that would be happy to earn your business and treat you with respect. I strongly recommend avoiding...

they want to respond to all the 1-star reviews saying we’re lying but this company/owner is an abusive, cheater, and a fraudulent scam. they sent my family out on already damaged jetskis and had the nerve to charge my family $500 for the company’s own incompetence! they wanted to take advantage of a non-english speaking family to steal money from. all of their employees are rude and don’t help you in any way. they wanted to say that they took pictures and it wasn’t damaged but i have proof that the bumper they said we ‘damaged’ was already half off and falling, just look at the difference in the bumpers!! i recommend everyone to take pictures of the jetskis befofe you go or they’ll try to scam you too!

edit: i’m not able to reply to your response, but i don’t know how YOU as an owner feel good about yourself being a liar and running a scam. YOUR employees were rude to us after they lied saying we damaged it. when we came yesterday it was only the bumper that we ‘damaged’ but now all of a sudden we damaged multiple things..okay. if these aren’t the pictures of the damaged jetskis then what is it a picture of? i will gladly upload the full picture because those are the only two jetskis we used. you, your company, and your employees are all liars who have no sense of remorse and are just money hungry. your employee, i didn’t get his name but he was the one who started the altercation at the trailer. after he redirected us to come to the trailer after we spoke to him, and we spoke to a young lady named natalia. he inserted himself when no one was talking to him, and started arguing and yelling at my sister and he wanted to call the police after she defended herself from your rude employee when he instigated...

Rented pontoon with slides, a float mat and 2 personal watercraft . While loading up at the dock to head to crab island we were shown where all Safty equipment was and where we were permitted to take the boat and watercraft then the young man said ( let him take some photos so we wouldn’t be charged for damage ) and lastly he told us to use common sense. The day was fun at crab island and we all enjoyed ourselves. We had to have pontoon and watercraft back by 17:00 hrs so at 16:00 we prepared to head back to dock so the 2 personal watercraft headed back first and we followed in the pontoon so a little way back one of the personal watercraft had a mechanical issue in the shipping lane so we hooked a line to it and towed it the rest of the way to the dock. Before we got to the dock with pontoon and watercraft in tow we received a yet telling us that a guy at the dock was upset and had made the comment that we should have left the personal watercraft and let them tow it. So we were in sight of the dock with watercraft in tow when we received the text so we cut the watercraft loose and the dock crew came out and towed it the rest of the way. Once on dock a dock hand with a bad attitude and smart mouth said that there were scratches on the personal watercraft and there would be a $500.00 damage fee.
